This was a restaurant we found on yelp because we were in the area. Never heard of it. Small cozy place with excellent food. Chef Winston was really nice to come out and ask us how everything was. Small menu but something for everyone sort of menu. We sampled many different apps and entress (4 of us). Succulant lamb, great crab cakes, very fresh salmon and prawns as well. Sauces, flavors all around outstanding. My beet salad was sooo good. Perfect amount of dressing. Beautiful presentation. Prices match the high quality and fresh ingredients. Very good service, unobtrusive yet server seemed to be aware the moment we needed something. Also quite casual which we like. We are there for the food and not the hoity- toity behavior. So we could relax (especially after a long work week). I recommend reservations.

Had an amazing dinner here. Promptly greeted by the chef, Winston. You can tell that Winston loves what he does, he prepared our food like he was serving his family on a special occasion. Had an order of mussels, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Best part was doing some of the bread in the juice, soaked up all the flavor. Ordered the steak medium rare, it came out juicy and tender, full of flavor, simply but perfectly accompanied with mushrooms and onions. Kat was our server for the night, Kat is a real treat. Entertaining throughout the whole dinner, explained everything beautifully. Definitely a place to go for an intimate dining experience.

While conducting flight training we stopped in Palo Alto for fuel and food. One of our guys found Thyme online and we headed over from the airport. What an awesome experience. Winston and our server, Kat, really took care of us. They were the most genuine people which added to the amazing experience we had. Food was out of this world. The mussels, rack of lamb, and Ribeye steak is really impressive. You also have to try the ginger pineapple drink they make in house! Class A people. Thank you having us. Your friends from the CA Army National Guard.

Ordered the mussels & the spicy prawns... SO DELICIOUS!!! Super happy that we stumbled onto this place. Everything is made fresh and they don’t use anything from a freezer. Will definitely be back!

Intimate and delicious dining experience. Scallops and lamb chops were amazing!! Embarrassed to say we ordered 3 orders of scallops between my husband and I because it was just that good! Family owned restaurant, very understated in the best way. No bullshit/pretentiousness observed. Staff are very friendly and inviting. Felt like we were eating at a relative's place. People need to notice and come to this little hidden gem and give it a try!

We were staying about a block away (at the Cowper Inn B&B, also highly recommend) so were happy to find such an amazing restaurant for dinner. The chef happily split the steak dinner in the back for a perfect-portion-sized meal for our kids to share (ages 16 and 12). They cleaned their plates--even the vegetables! Parents agreed it was delicious steak, well seasoned. We also had the grilled avocado appetizer--a little smaller than expected given the price for it, but delicious and fresh. Other entrees include the crab cakes--again, nothing left over, yummy, a lot of crab and not too much filler--and the mushroom and asparagus risotto. The risotto tasted just like spring! Very fresh, lots of flavor, not too much rice. We had house-made pineapple-ginger juice and that was delicious as well. We were stuffed so didn't order desert. Definitely will return!

This restaurant offers a small daily menu. The appetizers are expensive (~$20) but small, ok-tasting but not anything to write home about. The main course dishes are also on the pricey side (~$30), which would be worth if they tasted special, but they didn’t. Despite the small menu and our early seating (only 2 other couples when we came in), the food did not arrive quickly. The only thing the place has going for it is that it’s quiet.

We had a private party using the whole restaurant. The food was excellent. They let us decorate their space. Their staff was attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant. Very good beverage selections, portions and quality of the food.

This intimate, quiet, lovely restaurant is a real "find," The food was superb and the service was spectacular - charming, friendly waitress who catered to our party's needs. Limited menu but everything is delicious!! Not to worry if you don't like (or are allergic to) the spice thyme. They don't put thyme in anything -- it's jut their name. Best salmon I've had in a while in Palo Alto!

Very sophisticated flavors and presentation, much more than you'd expect for a casual neighborhood place, which this is. The kitchen really hits it out of the park.

I recently had a dinner at Thyme and was't impressed. Although priced as a high-end establishment, it certainly didn't feel that way. No table clothes, front door that did not close properly, and okay service. Secondly, the food was not memorable. I felt like the food could have had more flavor. This is a place to check out once.
