I love this bank. Easy parking and the ATM is very accessible. Customer service is great and they are always offering or advising a deal or a better solution for your account.

Beware Investment Advisors at Citi. Last Dec 2021, citi branch setup my mom to get investment advise. Advisor Anna persuade my mom to invest all her svgs into a Franklin municipal bond fund. Less than 1 mos, the fund dropped over $5k, and by 5th mos, it dropped $16k more than 11%. Noted my mom is 81 yrs old, do not speak English, and has NO grammar school, not any investment background. I filed a compliant to Citi investigation team. What it came back was she was in suitable investment because her tolerance level is "moderate", and investment knowledge is "moderate". How on earth does a 81 yrs old widow evaluated as "moderate" risk + experienced investor? Then I find out the decision of "suitable fit" was based on "new acct form" she signed. Anna asked my mom signed an open account form (in English), computer-typed by her, ck box "moderate" investment exp, and moderate risk. So my mom never knew what she signed, but was told in chinese that it was an open account form. I was present, and I did asked "shouldn't we wait until next year because Fed is increasing rate, and wouldn't this bond fund goes down?" Anna replied, she followed this fund over 20yrs, and it is very safe and will go back up eventually if it goes down one year. So far, my mom has lost $16,000 over 11% in this fund within 6 mos. And I later find out citi advisors receives commission from clients and being year-end, advisors must be desperate to meet quotas. Also, Please be aware there is no such thing as "Compliant dept" because there is no person's name who email you nor contact phone no. (Only they can talk justify they're right, but you can never talk to anyone! ) When you call and file a compliant, they take your compliant and after 1-mo reply your email with some ridiculous excuses that your investment is right fit, it is just your bad luck investing on the market. BE AWARE OF THE AGENT, "ANNA L" She service Arcadia, Irvine, SG valley. I had to trace her 3 branches to find her#.

This branch wouldn't accept a cash deposit into a relatives account that I pay rent too as I'm not listed on the account. Just another immature policy of Citibank. That's why my wife and I use other banks for our banking. Along these lines, my congregation also left this branch and is using someone else now too. Banks are supposed to be convenient.

Tried to open account and sat down with Ms.Higa. Once she knows that I would like to open a living trust account, you can tell obviously she doesn't want the hassle or something and unwilling to help. She then asked for a hard copy of social security card or else cannot open account. I asked if I can provide that later since I am just right down the street (I can go grab it right away if needed) so she can start the paperwork but got rejected right after with a firm :"No!" I never heard of CPI/KYC requires a hard copy when attempting to open account with my years of experience in banking. My mom recently passed away and I wanted to setup a separate living trust account so I can transfer the seller estate funds to better invest her funds with trust fund manager or a wealth management advisor. I wanted to find a bank closer to my Pasadena office and this bank right down the street. It was a total waste of time being at a bank that don't want/value new client. I ended opening account with the another bank down the street. Although that bank does not have the wealth management products I am looking for but at least, much better service and I feel valued as a customer.

I had been an excellent customer of a local Citibank for 22 years. When it came time to change a business account into our LLC, it became nothing but problems. The manager was rude, dismissive, unhelpful (and even untruthful!). Finally and fortunately, I went to Citibank in Pasadena and met with Jason Abajian. He was able to patiently help me with the transfer. He was courteous, competent and got the job done.... fast. Yes, there was some red tape we had to deal with, but he followed through beautifully. If you are looking for a new bank or are unhappy with the service you are getting at your Citibank branch, I highly recommend you go to the Lake Branch in Pasadena and work with Jason. Five star service!!

I have had a good relationship with the local personnel at Citibank for years. However, the corporate management is terrible and has treated me very poorly in connection with a small account I maintained for my mother's trust. The account receives less than $500 per month in small oil and gas royalties. The corporate management harassed me repeatedly demanding to know the net worth of the trust. I explained repeatedly what the trust consisted of and they were never satisfied. Then they harassed me repeatedly, demanding to know the "source" of my mother's "wealth." When I explained that my mother worked for salary her whole life and did not have any "wealth," they continued to harass me. I suspect that the demand for this information had to do with marketing for their investment products. I was finally so exasperated that I told them I would close my account, but need a few weeks to do that and re-direct an automatic pay. They immediately closed my account. The people behind this episode are ignorant and insensitive. Despite my satisfaction with my local bank I intend to close all my Citibank accounts because I have lost all respect for Citibank as an institution.
