Walked in today to look at some furniture and not once were we greeted. Girl that worked there had her feet kicked up and was yawning a storm. Guess employees are paid to sit around. It must be nice. I'll look else where.

Accidentally walked into this place after visiting RH few doors down. I heard about this furniture store online. It's one of the very stylish and expensive furniture stores that I know of.... All the furnitures were way too modern for me or they looked very 70s. Personally, they looked like trendy furnitures that I might have to change in few years.... I was looking for furnitures that would last about 10 plus years.... Might be perfect for younger generations and maybe like newlyweds.... Designs were very unique but I think they were way too over priced even at outlet prices. For example, desks were $2000+, sofas $6000+, chairs $500+.... Design 5 stars, service 5 stars but prices 2 stars.

Honestly had such a weird experience here. I think because I wasn't dressed up and look very young I didn't get the best service. I went in for a Herman Miller chair because I desperately needed a good office chair for work. I got directed where to go, but a salesperson didn't really come with me. Fine, I just tested out which one I wanted and then went back to the salespeople to place an order. The guy answered my questions well, but his recommendations were bad. He assumed I wanted the cheapest version of the chair (you can customize it and the more just add adjustable parts the more expensive it becomes). Sort of insulting. Wait it gets worse. I told him I wanted to see if there's any in store locations that might have it for pick up. Nope which is fine; I could wait a week or two for delivery. So he's on their website trying to figure out when I can get the chair asap instead of waiting several weeks for a certain model. He said he could find one, but expected that he might be able to in the coming days (what difference that would make...I have no idea). So he said he's going to email me an order so the price the chair was at would be locked in because Herman Miller was going to raise the price the next day. He gets my email, but doesn't send it to me then and there. I never get it so I just go on the Herman Miller website myself and ignore his advice to avoid the customizable upgrades. I build my dream chair and it was able to be shipped immediately. Also out of curiosity, I checked the Herman Miller website the next day and the sale on the website was still going on. So in summary, sales guy I guess thought I was too broke for a nicer model, offered me subpar service, and was wrong about when the sale ended. Blessing in disguise I guess because I found what I wanted without him. Can't speak for their other furniture, but for Herman Miller, I would just go in store to try the chairs and then buy it yourself off the website.

Excellent service and the buying process was really low pressure. My furniture was shipped sooner than I expected! Josh in particular was amazing and answered all of my questions. A truly stellar experience.

i purchased the barcelona chair and bench online. the order would not be delivered for another couple months so i naturally tried to cance the order. you'd think that an order that has not been delivered would be easy to cancel. there is no easily available ability to cancel the order online as it was to order am item. i called customer service but the number to camcel the order is a different extension from placing new orders. the waits are extremely long. but to talk to a rep for ordering, there is practically no wait. after finally getting through, i cancelled the order despite being offered additional discount for my troubles. why? because a company that makes it this difficult to cancel and get customer service is not worthy of my business. after cancelling the order i thought i was finally done dealing with dwr. to my surprise, i found out dwr is shipping the bench without chair. why would i buy the barcelona bench without chair? so again on the phone with customer service. i would like to cancel the order that has failed to be cancelled and not yet shipped. sorry, the rep says. i will have to either decline the delivery or return it after deivery. this whole ordeal has demonstrated to me how a buisness should not be run. i will update if and when i get my final refund.

My son will be working at home and needed a solid and comfortable chair to work the 8-10 hours each day, as a remote opportunity allows him to conduct business through the internet, and only seldom needs to travel to work. To learn more of the options of available seating options, this was a nice place to try out the many types of chairs for ergonomics, comfort styling and gaming. It is still too early to make a decision, but a test drive is more important than anything when considering how long the human body has to remain in certain positions over the workday.

What a beautiful space with bright natural lighting! The team is very knowledgeable in their furniture and are very helpful without being overbearing. We felt no pressure to purchase right away and were encouraged to do a little more research on the specific piece we wanted. Because of their excellent customer service they've made a lifelong customer out of us!

Ivan it was very knowledgeable and help usin everything we asked. I understand the sales person can not drop what he’s doing because I walked in the store and what is very nice they aloud you to look around and when you approach either of them we were helped. Excellent experience!!

I had spent weeks researching for the perfect ergonomic chair and thought it would be smart to not take the risk and buy one online based on its reviews only to have to disassemble it and ship it back which led me to stop by this Pasadena location. We were greeted by Dakin who was super knowledgable and not pushy at all. My intention was to just to introduce my booty to its perfect match in real life. A friend recommended the Herman Miller Cosm so I came here to compare that model against the Embody and to also revisit the not so impressive Aeron that I used in my twenties just one more time! I wasn't planning to buy anytime soon, I was just test driving. Welp! My friend's testimonials weren't fake, it took me a quick 10 seconds to determine that the COSM was the one! Dakin was not around the following day I placed the order so Marcos handled it for me. I literally have nothing to say except my experience in that shop and the exchanges via email/phone was extremely pleasant. Zero complaints except the imitation Purell they offered their customers that weekend. Maybe they wanted to maintain their customers perception of the store but they tricked us with their tequila smelling sanitizer which I thought was hilarious because we had an authentic bottle in our car. The man who picked up the phone in the West Hollywood location was rude and cocky. I actually ended up spending the rest of the day in that area and we were potentially going to purchase it from there because it was closer but decided to give the business to Pasadena, thanks to Dakin. Weeks later, the chair was delivered although I was promised I would get it within 5 business days.. but totally worth the wait. On top of that, my neighbor ended up buying one as well based on her experience with mine and Dakin took good care of her too. We're overworked old ladies with back problems and can't thank Dakin enough for taking such stellar care of us in such dire times. Working at home can be a pain but the perfect chair always makes it bearable. I would buy from him again, also thanks for the carpet casters!

Whenever I'm in the neighborhood, I always make sure to drop by to experience these timeless pieces over & over again. Recently in looking to purchase some pieces for my move, Marcos was able to help me and pick out some things that fit into the new space. He's a great, friendly, and knowledgeable staff member. From the order process to delivery he insured we had the best experience possible and I can't thank him enough. Thank you Marcos for all you do!

4.5 stars, but rounding up to 5 for good measure :) I have passed by this store dozens of times while walking around Old Town Pasadena. Their furniture is so interesting and I love so much of it, but I always figured it was super expensive.I was recently doing some shopping for a new desk/office chair since due to COVID, my company has moved all of our employees to working remotely for the remainder of 2020. I've been using an inexpensive executive chair for the past few months but it's been really uncomfortable, so I started doing research on the best desk chairs and discovered Herman Miller and the Aeron chair. I really wanted to try one out and found out they had them on display at the DWR showroom, so I decided to pay a visit the other day!I appreciated that the employees all wore masks and practiced safe + social distancing while in the store! When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by Joshua Gruber who helped me during my entire visit! He showed me all the different variations of the Aerons and pointed out all of the different features, let me sit in a few of them, and also showed me other HM chairs for comparison. I did a lot of research but was so happy to finally sit in one and try it out for myself. He also actually had the Aeron at his desk and said that he really enjoyed it, which was nice coming from someone who uses the chair on a regular basis. He was super thorough with helping me and ended up spending an hour of his time helping me while I took a look at everything!I ended up not buying the chair because employer actually ended up letting me take my chair from our office, BUT I am still highly interested in the Aeron and am still highly considering buying it if I end up getting tired of my company chair / want to really enhance my home desk setup! Whenever I'm ready to purchase the chair, I'm definitely coming to DWR to order it! The only reason why I mentioned 4.5 stars at the beginning of my review was due to the pretty expensive pricing. All of the pieces in this store are really expensive, but you can definitely tell that it's due to the high quality materials and craftsmanship.Thanks again, Joshua, for helping me out so much while I was there! Definitely can't wait to go back once I'm ready to purchase the Aeron!

We put in the order for a chair and they promised us that we would get it within 4 weeks. They charged my credit Card. When we didn't receive the chair after 4 weeks we contacted the store and they said the paper work shows it was sent out but the tracking number on file didn't match our order. So they didn't know where our chair was. So we canceled the order. They did not credit our charge so I had to contact my credit card company and despite the charge. After we contacted the customer services they eventually credited our credit card.

We came here after looking for various pieces to compliment our place. We found other contemporary stores to be on the gaudy side and really appreciated the simplicity and functionality of the designs here. The staff was friendly and helped us pick the right furniture and accessories. The location doesn't have a on-site warehouse so expect some time before your goods are delivered or before you can pick them up.

Most consumers who go into Design Within Reach don't realize that what they're seeing in the showroom is just a very small percentage of what the company actually carries. DWR represents not only Knoll and Herman Miller, but also Vitra, Poulsen, USM and a variety of other furniture and fixture fabricators. There are many , many pieces that are not on their website or in the showroom. You need a good sales rep like to guide you. I am a designer located in the greater Los Angeles area and I have had the pleasure of bringing many projects into Dakin Snyder at the Pasadena location. Dakin has come through for me repeatedly in sourcing the perfect pieces for my clients. He is very patient when I ask him about all the various fabric and finish options. There are so many options that are available, but that are not shown. He has been instrumental in digging deep into what DWR has to offer. He has extensive knowledge of the history of contemporary furniture and of pieces that are still being manufactured. He has made my job much easier and has continued to bring value to my clients
