I love this credit union. The decorations make you feel like you are in Hawaii. Lines are always short and the service is fast. The staff is professional, friendly, and understanding. Usually, it's only one teller however, they do not rush you. They make you feel good about being a member of their bank. Great interest rates on loans, savings, checking, etc. Plenty of parking in the rear lot or on the street. Note: They do not have a money-counting machine to count money they do it by hand the old-fashioned way. They do not have zelle yet. The ATM is only Available during bank hours.

Where are they gonna relocate? Or are they closing this branch? Is there gonna be another Pasadena location? I can't drive to LA each week!

This not a review of this particular branch just my overall experience with this particular credit union. The ATM’s regularly do not work which forces you to use other means, I advise to another bank or credit union.

The most friendly staff ever at a bank branch and always very helpful. It's like the TV show Cheers, ?where everybody knows your name...and they're always glad ya came...? ?

I'm leaving this review for anyone who wishes to apply here for a teller position. If you plan to bank here, however, just walk across the street cause School's First Credit Union has way better rates and genuine service. I should have seen the red flags when there were "VIP" members introduced to me who we could waive certain actions for AND the red flags from members who explicitly told me, "No, I'm not going to get to know you because you won't be here a week from today." I guess this branch was known for being inconsistent with its branch teller employees. Management constantly told me that because its an educator's credit union and the members can be old school, they don't exactly like to see new faces on the teller line. So I tried my absolute best to win the hearts of the members that I met, I tried my best and exceeded expectations as explained to me by the branch manager in my one-on-one monthly evaluations. But I fell victim to abuse of power, the assistant manager was not well trained and I was her guinea pig to learn how to train someone new. They honestly said that to me, more specifically that I was her "experiment to see how she can successfully train someone". I had no experience working for a bank and I was starting my journey in finance working here where I thought I'd have the proper mentorship and training but she constantly made mistakes when training me. The branch manager had to address at least 3 monumental mistakes that could jeopardize all of our jobs and blamed my inability to question her authority. Why would I question her training if I knew nothing that she was training me in? One day in the middle of my shift after coming back from lunch, the assistant manager called me into branch manager's office to speak with me. They let me go. I was in shock. Quite literally. It took me a few minutes to understand what they were saying because it was just 5 days ago that they gave me a review saying that they see so much potential in me, that they may one day end up working for me. Their explanation.. "Failure to meet introductory period." They didn't provide me anything more than those 5 words and no severance pay. I asked for advice on how I can avoid this in the future because I was confused but he said he could not speak on that. I have over 7+ years of work experience and have never been fired or received a negative review from my superiors. There should be labor laws against this abuse of power. We had a meeting a few days before that the company's eyes were on our branch due to these mistakes recently starting to question other activities that the branch conducts. My guess is that someone's job was on the line due to these mistakes, it was probably easiest to blame the new girl and they weren't going to question the many years of experience of branch manager and newly appointed assistant manager who only had experience in real estate and auto department. But after some time of healing through my PTSD and understanding that I did nothing wrong, I warn whoever plans to apply here. These words I write in this review are embedded in me and used to haunt me but they don't define me or my work ethic. I prayed for a full-time job with benefits, one that looked great on paper. But be careful when praying for that job, be sure to pray for a working environment that won't lead you to burnout, depression, and regret. P.S. the loan officer however is probably the most genuine person in that branch, super humble, knowledgable, and has a heart of gold.

So, you have to make an appointment in order to go into the bank. I have not been to this location, however, I park on Lake St. because that's where the front door is. I pay for street parking walk up to door only to find I have to walk around the corner to come in through the back door! So much for me paying to park! I see free 20 min parking by the back entrance. Once I call and get let in for my 11:45 appt, I'm told they're in a meeting will be with me shortly. Next time, please don't say that, simply say, we'll be with you shortly. Mind you, I'm doing a couple easy transactions, no loan, nothing like that but still need to make appt with 4 employees and only me inside, wow.

If you bank with FFCU check your account now. As a LAUSD Teacher, I would never bank with FFCU. Teachers be careful. Yes they are friendly until you catch them draining the account with fees. You won't get notified of this till the account hits zero. (You will not get your money back). I was under the assumption that this account can be treated as a savings account since it was a credit union. Getting a hold of someone who can help you is also difficult and you will get the run around. Utilizing their services is complicated. I would avoid visiting this branch at all costs. Yes they seem friendly but employees don't know how to end conversations early when there are many customers waiting to be helped. Asking someone how their day was is fine but please don't be dig deeper into people's personal lives extending the conversation when there are people waiting.

What more can I say? I LOVE MY BANK!!! BofA was jerking me around so much and I finally got fed up and moved everything to First Financial about 8 years ago, and I have been so happy since! There is never a long wait, everyone is super friendly, the location is convenient, there are ATMs all over the country, I earn more interest than BofA ... the list is endless. I could use the ATM, but I prefer to go to the window, because the people are that great.

I came to FFCU this October as I was searching for my first auto loan. I was first greeted by Alice who was very nice and helpful. Javier helped me get started with my accounts and Gem finished setting up my auto loan. Overall I've had a great experience with FFCU and got an excellent APR on my loan. highly recommend this place.

Excellent customer service from the branch manager and employees.  It's definitely not a big bank atmosphere and they don't have a large staff - usually only one teller at a time.  There can be a decent line because of this, but the service is just so good I don't mind. Metered parking is on the street or behind in the large parking lot in the back.  There is also ONE space directly behind the back door.
