Great service! I took a silk outfit to a dry cleaner in S.Pasadena and they said that they wouldn’t be able to get the stain out, and recommended this place. They took care of it 100%. Fair price, and the kind woman behind the counter even sewed on a tiny clasp where I had a small safety pin- free of charge!

French hand Laundry is a landmark in Pasadena. I love seeing old businesses survive the test of time. Not the cheapest but one of the best services.Services: Drapery & window cover cleaning

Outstanding service, these two sisters do an excellent job welcoming customers and giving a level of attention and detail uncommon at other cleaners. Pricey but exemplary and worth it.

What a phenomenal business - My family is from Pasadena and had told me that the only people who could a very old stain out of my grandfather’s suit I inherited would be these lovely folks. We live in Texas, so we had to ship the suit after every dry cleaner here said it couldn’t be fully cleaned. The communication from the owner was exceptional, and not only did they get the stain out completely, but they restored my grandfather’s suit completely getting rid of the shininess of the material that came with age. It looks new even though it was made in 1985. I can’t explain how much this means to me. Moreover, the price was very reasonable. Thank you so much!!!Service: Special care fabric cleaning

*BUYER BEWARE*I dropped off my wedding outfit to be pressed only, two weeks ahead of my wedding. It is a silk set made by The Row. It had all original labels and price tags attached. Easily the most expensive thing I’ve ever purchased and I just loved it. As gross as it sounds, the fact that it was made by The Row was important to me for sentimental/ fashion reasons and for potential resell. When I called in on the promised finished date, I was put on hold for ten minutes while they searched for my ticket, which had been lost. The woman on the phone said they were running behind because they had been on vacation the week before, and they would “see what they could do” to get it to be by my wedding…. No promises, no phone call. If I hadn’t called them proactively, it would have gotten completely lost. Long story short, after three phone calls and a few tears, I was able to pick up my outfit.Fast forward to an hour before my wedding. I pull the outfit out of the plastic to lay on the bed to be photographed. This is when I find that, not only have the price tags been removed, the inside designer labels have been removed as well. Neither were mentioned or offered to me, when I went to pick it up. I was devastated. It definitely wasn’t how I wanted to feel in that moment. I brushed it off and called them on Monday morning. I was told that they never take the label off. Complete denial. I called several more times to see if maybe they could locate them. Between the three people I spoke with, I was told that the labels were thrown away, and also that they would never remove the labels or price tags for pressing. I did not even get an apology until I asked for one.I have suspicions that these labels may be repurposed on their end, as they inherently hold value. Either way, it’s been a horrible customer service experience, and I am still very disappointed to have lost the labels on this sentimental and quite expensive outfit. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

My daughter's wedding dress has been hanging for quite some time, so we decided to have it boxed in an acid free container. It seems the French Hand Laundry is the best place to have the Australian dress preserved for hopefully another wedding years from now. The staff are very knowledgeable about delicate garments and sequins used on the dress to be sure there is no damage to the dress. We hope the dress will last at least 30 years, should the granddaughter to be could use this slightly used dress...

Brought two vintage madeira lace tablecloths June 8th, when I called to inquire about my items four weeks later they rudely said "If we didn't call you they're not ready." And gave me no further information. I called several more times met with the same dismissive attitude and still no answers on when my items would be done or even where they were. Finally today, 13 weeks later I called fed up saying I'm on my way to get my items in whichever state they were in, at this point they still couldn't find one. Thankfully when I got there both tablecloths were ready, however I was greeted with an attitude, no apologies, or even a mention about the situation and paid an exorbitant amount for terrible service. Perhaps this happens for them frequently. I for one do not recommend them, unless you don't mind having your possessions be held hostage, and rude service. I'll be taking my business elsewhere--not worth the trouble.

I’ve always had great experiences with the French Hand Laundry. I trust them to do a thorough job cleaning garments that can’t be machine washed. They’re expensive, but i don’t mind spending the money on nicer items I want to keep for many years.
