I have been going here for YEARS and have never been disappointed. I tell the clerk where I'm going, what we're eating, who will be in attendance, and what part of town the bottle will be travelling to. He asks my price range and then fetches me the wine or spirit. I've never had a mistake. There have also been times when I've requested things that were not on the shelf. The clerk has contacts and was able to secure me what I was seeking. That is excellent customer service.I also like supporting independent enterprises rather than the larger chain stores.FIVE STARS from this user!

Not only was I able to find all the 10ths I needed for our carry-on travel needs, but when I left my credit card behind, the owner actually telephoned several local banks as well as my credit card company in an attempt to let me know he had the card, and to protect me from fraudulent charges. How many people would go to that trouble?! Bless him, and henceforth I shall patronize Gerlach's whenever I make liquor purchases.

I'm sure if I walked the aisles I would've bought a lot more things than the lottery tickets I purchased. This is one old school popular liquor store with a rare drive thru driveway.

I think this place has changed owners. I used to like this place a lot, did you not have fish tacos anymore and the prices for the tacos all are a little bit overpriced. There are many things that were missing for the menu and I did not feel like the food was any better than an average place. An average place deserves an average rating

4 Stars I don't live in this area anymore but I've been to Gerlach's a million times in my life. Back in 1982 our band rehearsal spot was across the street. We'd walk over to Gerlach's and get us some green Mickey's Fine Malt Liquor (Big Mouth) as part of our nightly rehearsal ritual. Pretty sure us guys in the band helped keep this place in business. Gerlach's has been in Pasadena so long it's a Pasadena institution. Buy your Mickey's fine malt liquor big mouth beer here! I passed by today, stopped in for old time sake and bought a lottery ticket. Can't drink that beer anymore though. It's awful. My Photo below:

Star One: Bidirectional. Whatever path one may be driving through the connection between Pasadena and its much smaller southern sister, pulling into the drive-through slots angled for available entry in two directions makes for easy access. Star Two: Older. Any worn edifice edges serve to provide a character of endurance through both up and down economies and implies a neighborhood stability more reliable than sobriety. Star Three: Options. Considering the restricted space, the spectrum of booze brands is wider than one might think. (potential) Star Four: Zones. Fridges in front and down back nook but the beer is less easily accessible than the Gatorade in a liquor store. (potential) Star Five: Energy. An old school pillar of the community shouldn't feel compelled to have an outdated vibe or the tension level of a 7-11. Convenience and collection of spirits make this place an obstacle to any 12-stepper triggered at a meeting because the Gerlach's geometry of drive through ease can temp a slip from sobriety.

Added bonus, they've got the BEST ADA parking space within miles. Great wine selection with good help from the crew within your price range, Top shelf whiskeys and things when the budget allows, pretty fine other stuff when the budget is low. Fine beer selection and a nice selection of treats for the kids and grandkids.
