I've banked here and gone to the Pasadena branch for many years, but am no longer happy with their services. Don't get me wrong, the employees are very nice, that's not the issue. The issue is that during COVID, they were only open from 10am-2pm Monday-Fridays. In other words, if you need to visit the branch, you have to take off work to get your banking done. I suggested that they maybe stay closed one weekday and open for a few hours on Saturdays, so that everyone has the opportunity to visit their bank....to no avail. Now they're open 10am-5pm Monday-Friday, but still not on Saturdays. This doesn't help the situation at all and is not good customer service. I find it unreasonable that they will not accommodate people who cannot make it there during the work week.

The staff are helpful and no issues or complaints about the terms of service. So why only 3 stars? The hours of operation are way too restricted. No branch ANYWHERE in Los Angeles is open on Saturday. This branch at least used to be open on Saturdays along with a branch in San Gabriel. No longer. On weekdays the hours open are only from 10am to 400pm. Unless you're retired or work in the neighborhood, good luck trying to go there. That is why Chase Bank, Bank of America and other banks stay open until 600pm at least one or two days a wee and always are open by 900am: so you can actually go there without missing an hour or more from work. Each time I go to Union Bank I have to get to work late, a sacrifice no bank should impose on its customers.

The worst place I been to, unlike any other bank I was outraged by some of the people who work there, they try to discourage you from cashing a check, they make up their own policy, I was so frustrated by the lack of professionalism, however the teller stirred me into anger, by the time the branch manager got involved the teller lied about her statements, it takes three weeks to cash my check, that's when I lost it she literally lied to my face, she kept saying that's not what I meant., total bitch..

Words can't express the frustration and lack of professionalism from every single employee I've encountered here. They don't seem to care about retaining existing customers or potential new ones. Their computer system is dated, much like the fashion the bank tellers are wearing with their cheap Avon jewelry!! The smell of White Diamonds perfume, and Aqua Net hairspray is over powering. This place needs a major computer and style over haul PRONTO! Avoid this place!!

This branch deserves more than a 5 star review. Even during construction, they make sure the branch is cleaned and sanitized. Security guard at the door doesn't just stand there, they actually do their job. They open the door for you (I'm assuming so lot of people don't touch it cause of Covid). I usually deal with Anni and Marlon, both are amazing. I recently had to open another account, I emailed Marlon minutes later he confirmed my appointment for the day that I wanted with no problem. Marlon is your guy for any personal and business needs. Anni is just amazing, the service she provides is just fast and efficient. Both Anni and Marlon deserve a recognition because no matter what during or before the pandemic, they've always provided excellent customer service and help.

Service quality is very very mixed. Hit or miss. Didn't always use to be that way. Maybe excellent customer service has taken a back seat to Covid. At least it feels so at the Pasadena Union Bank Location on Lake!

Worst bank ever. They are nice up to a point but if you are a freelancer they will rob you blind with fees and penalties. Thieves!
