“California Cactus Center is an absolute gem for plant enthusiasts. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by an array of unique cacti and succulents that you won't find elsewhere. The staff is not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable. Prices are very reasonable given the quality and wide selection available. Whether you're looking for the perfect plants to adorn your home or searching for great gifts for fellow plant lovers, this place is a succulent wonderland. I definitely will be coming back!”
“Hidden gem for all plant lovers!!! There are rare and beautiful plants scattered throughout for GREAT prices. If I had done all my plant shopping here I would've saved hundreds, especially with all the price gouging for specific species. Amazing selection and kind staff. I cant wait to go back!”
“First time going with my girl , went a little bit late , we didn't really have enough time to check all the place . Whatever we were able to see, they have a nice variety of indoor and outdoor plants, we will definitely go again soon , the guys are very nice, and helpful. We recommend this nursery to those plant lovers.”
“I've been shopping at this Pasadena location for almost 2 years. Every single time I've been there, I've had incredible customer service.
Their knowledge of plants is incredible, and much appreciated.
Sherry is always so delightful. Always welcomes me by name, she has helped me so much, she is truly an asset to the company. I get disappointed if she is off when I go in. Also, David, he is extremely helpful. I am disabled and he is always willing to pick things up for me. He is always more than happy to help me load the car.
I plan to shop there for all my gardening needs!”
“Great place to run. Lots of bugs. I think I'm allergic to a plant I bumped into. Good stuff.
Toilets: Average park restrooms.
Dog-friendliness: I see a lot of dog walkers in the area so I assume it is a good place for dogs.
Picnic area: Table and benches in certain areas.”
“Highly recommended to buy everything you need in large and very large small projects, kindness and good customer service and good recommendations for very good quality products ??”
“I was craving a coffee and looking for a new plant. Pasadena Roots had both. Fantastic family-owned business. The coffee is delicious (I ordered the Wu-Tang) and the plant (and accompanying pot) make the perfect centerpiece for my bookshelf. I'll definitely be back! Support locally owned businesses.”
“Love this little neighborhood nursery. They have everything you could possibly want and more. They have unusual plants that you would never find at Home Depot. You might find the same plants at Armstrong Nursery but you would also be paying almost double what Lincoln Nursery charges. The staff st Lincoln are friendly and very knowledgeable.”
“Great Black Friday deals, and we picked up a beautiful Christmas tree and wreath today (for an amazing price too!). Parking was a bit busy, but as long as you stay calm and not rushed you'll have a wonderful experience. We were greeted by the kindest, holiday spirited team at Home Depot and in the holiday tree area. The staff really knew their stuff about Christmas trees - I believe the tree team was also from ICI Trees. Don't forget the free clippings and hot chocolate. Our 17 month old had so much fun checking out the trees and picking out ours. Happy holidays everyone!”
“I’d probably shop here if prices were slightly higher than other nursery options but since it’s slightly cheaper Bellefontaine is a no brainer if you live anywhere in the area. Why? Friendly, knowledgeable service provided by a small, local business that offers fair, competitive pricing.
What’s not there? Fancy merchandising, for one. No displays, no hard sell— walking through the nursery is to navigate a maze in search of treasure. And that’s the other thing: the selection is well curated but not vast. You could call it limited. There are natives but not like Theodore Payne. There are veggies but no like Armstrong.
But unless you seek a Whole Foods experience that leaves you inspired but exhausted, Bellefontaine Nursery has enough gems spread across its many micro-aisles to keep most gardeners sated.”
