I hired Right at Home to help with my 80 year old dad who had a very aggressive, paranoia rich type of dementia for help after a fall that resulted in 5 broken ribs. We had 24 hour care for him for a little over a week before he ended up in the hospital again. Each caregiver was fantastic and never seemed to let any of the nasty things that came out of my dad's mouth faze them. They were so nice and patient and eventually won him over to the point where dad was accepting their help. And due to the quick thinking of one of them, Jolene, she recognized symptoms of a stroke while taking my dad out for breakfast and got him immediately out of the diner and off to the ER. Jolene, Richard, Debbie, Tomas, Noe and the others were awesome caregivers and I would hire them again in a heartbeat. Sebastian, the case manager, worked hard to get us the last second care we needed when we first hired Right at home, and is incredibly nice, supportive, and professional. I woud recomend this company to anyone looking for help!

Buyer beware! While our helper was good, potential customers need to be aware that the management of this company likes to blame the customer first. Instead of "I'm sorry we misbilled you" when they overbilled me - they said that the helper worked overtime, when she had only worked 6 hours, and I had to make a case in order to get a credit. When we gave 2 weeks' notice of a change in schedule, they not only send us someone new, they text us about it the night before, with the excuse "well, we only knew of the change that day ourselves." When the schedule was changed for a previous visit, and we specifically asked them to contact us to discuss next steps before the next visit, they didn't bother to call or text us to do so, or even to reconfirm the next visit date and time. And then they blamed us for "not following the schedule" when the schedule was supposed to be discussed before the next visit. We were more stressed managing this company than the person they were supposed to help provide care for. Just typing this is giving me anxiety. Highly unrecommend.UPDATE: I work in customer service, and their answer to my review should have been, "we're sorry, and we'll show you how we will do better." As expected, and as seen in their other responses to negative reviews, they responded with a defensive tone (see below). They said "communication is a two-way street." I completely agree! The whole point of my review was that I was the only one communicating! Obviously they only read what they wanted to in the review and ignored my real message. Again, buyer beware.

The helper they sent was good. That's why they even get a star. However, the care managers messed up three times, and each time, they blamed us first before agreeing that they were at fault. First, they billed us overtime for only working 6 hours. Then, they text us the night before sending us someone new, when they promised in a previous call that they would not send a new person without having them shadow our current helper first. Finally, they sent over a helper on the "regular" schedule when they were supposed to call us to discuss next steps, after they messed up the previous appointment and did not confirm the next time they were supposed to send someone. After lots of back and forth they agreed to remove the charges for the first two but not the last. That was the last straw for us, along with their attitude that we were asking for more communication than normal. Why it is "not normal" to confirm an appointment when the previous week's was changed, I fail to grasp. I hope the helper leaves so that we can hire her at another location. It's really too bad I have to spend time writing this negative review instead of actually spending time with the person who needs care. But potential customers need to beware that this company will charge you without communicating with you.

My experience was terrible with Right at Home. Yes, it ended in Dec 2021, 20 months ago (thankfully!) and I've only just decided to take the time to write this review because I've been overwhelmed with caring for my father and he comes first. Facts: I live out of state, my father and his wife lived in his home, I hired Right at Home trying to ensure my father had proper care as his wife wasn't interested in ensuring he got his meds as prescribed, was fed, had companionship, etc. I REPEATEDLY reminded RAH that they were there to care for my father NOT his wife! They consistently did NOT communicate with me, did NOT fill out their care info with actual info (it's still there -- yep, someone showed up at 8something and at 2something they checked off that they'd accomplished everything and I GUARANTEE you, they did NOT!) The ONLY communication I rec'd from this company was invoices and once that his wife had denied entrance (I guess you don't get paid if someone doesn't let you in). Actually, she made a nail appointment so she wasn't there when the staff arrived and he, left upstairs in bed, having not eaten in days, not had meds, not had ANY attention, did not hear the doorbell... nor would he have been able to get to the door to open it in that malnourished state... When I was told his wife was having the care staff help her go through cabinets rather than caring for my father, I requested someone with an interest my father would engage with -- airplanes. The person they sent was interested in planes, not knowledgeable, not passionate, and had waaaaaayyyy too many personal issues to pay any attention to my father! In fact, if my father was up, dressed and downstairs, the two of them would sit across the room from each other and sleep -- all day....!! That's not what I call 'engagement'. Blessings come in different ways... he fell, I terminated Right at Home. Without going into details, his wife had been trying to starve him to death, denied him nutrition, isolated him, neglected him and the help I tried to buy from Right at Home was a total failure... the staff consistently paid attention to his wife NOT him. In retrospect I realize there is no real training, the employees are not licensed RNs, CNAs, Med techs, aids, etc. They are people off the street and like the majority of 'service' businesses, the turnover is extremely high. No excuse in my book! Expect to be exceptionally hands on micromanaging their staff with your loved one. As I said, I live out of state, I couldn't do that. Expect that whomever is alive and well will get the attention and "care"... expect that you will need to check the 'care plan' and 'reports' daily as they will be inaccurate or downright lies... and expect that as your loved one (in my fathers' case) decides letting go is better than the environment they are in, you will receive NO communication from the company. Sidenote: His "wife" abandoned him, I moved him closer to me, he is thriving with engagement, nutrition, medication management, social interaction and compassion. He has dementia, needed an advocate, his wife was a roadblock and Right at Home didn't help.

Right At Home was a tremendous help to our family during the last few months of my elderly father's illness. They came through with both a regular caregiver as well as last-minute additions when other caregiver staff needed time off. I would highly recommend their company for your senior caregiving needs.

Right at Home Pasadena is an excellent organization. The owners and the staff are outstanding. I highly recommend their services for anyone looking for personal care, homemaker or companion caregiver services for a loved one in San Gabriel Valley. They are caring, compassionate, reliable and hard working, could not find a better senior in home care and assistance company to work with. They have a passion for seniors and go above and beyond to help. It also seems like an excellent place to work based on the quality of caregivers and their outstanding work ethic, highly recommend. thanks for all you do! Barry P.

In January 2014 I was scheduled for eye surgery. The hospital insisted on proof I had someone with me to drive me home after recovery. Since I live alone and have no living relatives this meant I would need to engage the service of a professional for the task. I contacted a couple of services but Right at Home was the only one that understood what I wanted, when I needed it and had qualified people to perform the task. Since then I have used them many times as they are prompt, able to manage my walker and of late oxygen tank, and go out of their way to as helpful as possible. I'm in my late 80's and would lost without them.

Right at Home is an excellent service for those who need in home care for a family member. They have some of the best caregivers in the business and are always available to help. We have had them for one and a half years now and will continue with them as long as they are needed.

My wife needed a caregiver after having a kidney removed due to cancer. She had a very tough time at the beginning of her chemo therapy. We had several Right at Home Caregivers to assist her. We found them all to be very helpful. She is now done with her chemo therapy so we have ended our service with Right at Home. We will contract with them in the future if needed.

I have to say that when you are in the midst of a pandemic keeping your loved ones in a convalescent home is probably not an option at times. We brought my dad home to recover from his hip fracture and Raquel met us at home late at night to take down his information and see what was needed. It took us a few tries to find the right person but they were very understanding when it came to switching out the caregivers we thought were not suitable for him.Having the right caregiver made this road a little easier. My dad has thus far recovered and I would just like to thank the staff for finding us the right caregivers.Thank you for being patient with my family. I know trying to find good quality staff is hard. We thank you for Nelly, she was AMAZING!

I would give 0 stars but one of the caretakers that was working with us was wonderful so they get one star. My experience with Right at Home was not a good one. They did an intake of my mother who we needed care for, they did not send qualified caretakers to us, we needed someone to turn my mother in bed she isn't able to walk after a car accident. They sent us people who couldn't read simple instructions on her medications and ointments and actually burned her rectum because of their negligence. Some of the other workers made a mess in my home, were disrespectful to my mother or had no common sense. And... the agency right at home, asked them to lie to us about experience and caretaking skill... and the agency didn't provide them with any information about my mother prior to their arrival. The professionalism is minimal and they tried to blame my mother for the lack of experienced caretakers that they sent us. Basically they will send people off the street to your home. And tell you they are qualified and trained and they are not. Totally disappointed and disgusted with Amber, Raquel, Renee and the whole staff. Which are all related to the owner and nepotism is how they keep their jobs. Please don't send them to take care of your loved ones. Go find someone yourself, I did and I'm much happier and so is my mother. Oh and they treat their staff horrible.
