Tournament Park is a charming small park owned by CalTech, open to the public during daylight hours. It is particularly well-suited for families with young children, featuring a small sand playground, grassy fields, and plenty of picnic benches. The park allows dogs on leashes, making it a friendly space for pet owners too. The park is rich in history, known as the terminus of one of the first transcontinental flights in 1911, and it has connections to the famous Tournament of Roses parade. It once hosted various events, including ostrich races and balloon flights, and was the site of the first eight Rose Bowl Games. Visitors appreciate the park's cleanliness and secluded feel, with large trees providing ample shade. Families often gather here for picnics and birthday parties, enjoying the spacious layout and the peaceful atmosphere. Though some find the reservation process a bit confusing, the park staff are available to assist if needed. Overall, Tournament Park is highly recommended for families looking for a quiet and enjoyable place to spend quality time with their children.
Tournament Park but I think it should be named as Toddler Park, as many freely and happily play here. There are picnic tables, bbq setup and playground. Definitely a place for kids with their family to spend some quality here.

Very nice secluded park. It does have a very small playground but good for small children. It is a sand playground, so definitely watch the kids as some of the area can be slippery with the sand. Lots of tables for families to have picnics or lunch and lots of shade.
