Washington Park is a beloved destination in Pasadena, offering a variety of activities for families and individuals alike. The park features a shaded playground equipped with swings, slides, and a jungle gym, making it a great spot for young children. Visitors can enjoy lighted tennis and basketball courts, as well as handball courts, along with walking paths surrounded by trees. There are ample picnic areas with tables and BBQ pits, perfect for enjoying a meal outdoors. The park's rich history dates back to 1922 when it was designed by renowned landscape architect Ralph Cornell and horticulturalist Theodore Payne. Washington Park is known for its natural beauty, including a charming bridge and lush green spaces ideal for relaxation, exercise, or a peaceful lunch break. While the park is generally clean and well-maintained, some visitors have noted minor cleanliness issues in certain areas. Overall, Washington Park is a picturesque, family-oriented space, making it a favorite for recreation and leisure in the community.
One of my favorite parks in Pasadena, with some natural areas. There’s an upper area with the playground and restrooms, and a lower area with picnic tables, and basketball, tennis, and handball courts. Plus there’s a natural areas, with a cute bridge that’s fun to explore with a dog.
