I toured this school in 2019. I had to get a special permit to enroll him. Our address should have had him attending Longfellow. But I loved what Willard had to offer and was so excited when he was accepted. Gardening! Hatching and raising chickens! Music program! Spanish AND Mandarin! Well, then Covid happened in 2020 when he was supposed to start kindergarten. So- he missed out on what should have been an amazing year- as so many kids did. Fast forward to first grade. One would have thought the school would anticipate kids that don't know how to interact appropriately, given the social isolation they experienced. Perhaps if Doctor Baxter had still been the principal that might have been the case. As it was, Principal Brambila did not see to it that the kids were given any sort of introduction to school. It was business as usual from day one. Ms. Cahir, the first grade teacher, seemed to dislike my child from minute one. Yes, he had behavioral issues. We enrolled him on Foothill Family and he was assigned a therapist who shared with us many kids were having issues, particularly the ones that missed out on kindergarten. My son's behavior improved a lot, thanks to therapy. Yet his teacher never seemed to recognize his potential. Which is her main job. The icing on the cake was when I let Ms Cahir AND Principal Brambila know that my son wouldn't be attending a field trip. In writing and in person. I sent back a permission slip with a big fat NO checked off. Well, they took my son on that field trip anyway. The principal said it was "a misunderstanding". His teacher had nothing to say. Neither did the superintendent. We have now left the city of Pasadena and won't be back - for the sake of our child!

Had an amazing experience here i miss it, i was there for t-k throughout 5th grade. I enjoyed all of my teachers you could see that they cared a lot about us students if i were to ever have an upset day my teachers would take me outside and talk to me it made me feel loved and that I could trust them... I had a connection with all my teachers they all had patients for everyone! We would do weekly assemblies and performances, we also had a green team run by on of the teachers (Mrs. Grabis) she was amazing i was a student of hers for a while i not only learned how to be green but to learn to interact with my classmates!! The janitors were the best hands down every 5th grader that i knew was friends with at least one janitor, we always thanked them and showed that we appreciated everything that they did for us we would give them fist bumps and even hugs before holidays. the staff that are out on the playground are cool my friends and I became friends with all of them we always talked and had good laughs, we really got to know the staff and it was amazing to talk to everyone. Still can't get over this school i had a blast!

Terrible security and the worst principle of a school I ever dealt with no way Any of my kids ever go there. Not unless some staff changes on now 3 occasions 2 of the 3 kids left the school crying due to bullying not by other students but by one of the teachers. Also two students molested a 3.5 year old and NOTHING was done about making sure other kids are safe to my knowlage with one staff member literally begging me to help as she could not do anything. In my opinion a principal that builds such a situation is a idiot and has no business around kids. the Molestation took place off school grounds but the two that did it are there and still there. I am so discussed with some of the staff. Some are good but the good ones are not running the school. In my opinion

My daughter came here for 5th grade, and she liked the teacher a lot. I also really liked the office staff, and feel like the whole school really cares about the kids.
