I cannot say enough good things about the decor, cleanliness, staff and lovely energy surrounding our 2-day stay at the Farmhouse i Paso Robles. A SF Bay area resident myself, I met my daughter and son-in-law from the LA beach area for a banner birthday celebration midway in Paso Robles before the couple headed off to Big Sur. The choice of lodging appointments was sweetly sophisticated and uncommonly tasteful throughout. At breakfast they even had 3 kinds of freshly made excellent croissants, and dairy free yogurt served along with other regular healthful fare! Our visit time happened to coincide with both Hannukah and the Christmas season. This soothing, light experience was an unexpected, yet entirely welcome, gift: there was openness to the sky through skylights in the high ceilings of the breakfast area, a gorgeous tree with gold and white lights, and artful beauty in essentially every direction we looked. :) :) :) All 3 of us loved our time at the Farmhouse!!!!

What a lovely place with beautifully designed rooms and common areas. The staff was very friendly and made us feel like at home. They offer a simple but very delicious complimentary breakfast. We will definitely come back!!

We recently were on a roadtrip from San Francisco to Joshua Tree. We booked a night in Paso Robles last minute and found Farmhouse on accident. We thought it would be cute and kitschy but we were really pleasantly surprised. The rooms are small but cute and charming and we'd definitely stay here again.

From the moment we walked in we noticed the attention to detail that this special little surprise had to offer. The tasteful and current style was comfortable and practical. Each room has a private patio and fire pit that is lit from 6-10 weather permitting. The bed was super comfortable and the products were nice. Again, the attention to detail and classy little touches make The Farmhouse special and unique. The rooms feel like individual bungalows so it doesn't at all have a typical motel feel to it. I won't give away all of the special touches; you will need to come experience them for yourself. We will be back for sure. Room 12 is particularly nice, I think.

The property is beautiful. A number of small cottages in a village-like setting. The reception area/breakfast room is cozy. The landscaping very pleasant with strategically-placed fire pits. A couple complaints: music is piped everywhere on the property into the night. Quiet would be more pleasant. Also, our bill included a $20 "amenity fee" per night. What's that other than a "junk fee"? Feels dishonest since it was not disclosed prior to our final bill.

I enjoyed staying here just wish I had planned better. I stayed last minute on a Saturday night and so it was very expensive for about 16 hours total. I had a nice room near the fire pit with a King size bed. I adored the upscale/rustic decor. The little touches were darling and I felt cozy and safe. I will stay here again but I will try to go with friends or family who will have the adjacent room because the walls are thin and you can hear a lot of what is going on next door. I’d also make sure I had a cooler to keep ice in and I’d bring water. The total for my stay was over $400 by the time I paid all the occupancy taxes, for the bottled water I drank in the room and the $50 fee for my dog. The rate quoted was $279.00. For that amount plus $50 for the dog plus the occupancy taxes there should have been decent drinkable water for free. I tried the water from the ice machine and it was bad. My only other quibble is the amenities list on the website said there are robes in the room and there was not one in my room. Here’s a photo of my dog on the bed (yes I brought my own sheet to cover it.)

Kind of a mixed bag. Very nice layout and chic decor with beautiful retro details. Beds are comfy. However, a few things were lacking. Rooms are described as including robes but neither of the rooms we booked had them? Room mini bar was supposed to include "local wines" and craft spirits? Maybe there's an issue as it is recently renovated. But why include this on room descriptions - it is misleading.Fire pits outside rooms were a very nice touch. However, there was piped in music playing at all times, which wasn't so nice at 7:00am on Saturday as I could hear it in my room. We did bring our pet and it was very convenient with easy access to the outside!

Wow! This motel was perfect! ? It felt absolutely luxurious and the service was wonderful. We got a nice note on the bed wishing us a Happy Anniversary. With the impending hurricane, we had to make some adjustments to our reservation and they were so accommodating. Thank you! We will be back!

I stayed here back in 2016, it was a rustic, but unique motel and had a friendly staff. It was also reasonably priced for the area (wine country). Over the last two years The Farmhouse has been bought and renovated by a company that specializes in boutique motels. It just reopened for customers (after a year and half reno) a few months ago. It's still the quaint motel sitting on a hill just off Spring Street (the main drag in Paso), but with some changes, both good and not so good. The new check in/dining area has been completely overhauled, it's most definitely in the boutique motel category now. They've got a beautiful dining/lounging area, an outdoor patio and lots of misc high end swag for sale. I asked for another cabin at the top of the grounds again (less road noise from Spring Street) and as I stepped in to the newly renovated room, I was excited to see the changes they had imagined for the rooms. I was somewhat disappointed tho, the room itself was basically the same, it still had the vaulted ceiling and the little sitting area in front, and I'm guessing the beds are all new, but otherwise the room looked mostly unchanged. The bathroom had been renovated as well, and the shower benefited from that the most, unfortunately it's still the same size, read small, but now the tiny shower has a curved glass door and all new tile. They have also filled the room with upselling, you've now got a mini bar of sorts with a variety of beverages and snacks you can purchase at mini bar rates, read expensive. A couple of things that are also lacking in the room is any semblance of a desk, there's room for one, (and they had them in 2016) but nope, do your computer work sitting on the bed now I guess. They have supplied a special extension outlet with a couple of plugs and some USB ports as well, a nice addition. They also got rid of the in-room microwave and fridge, and replaced the in-window A/C with the fancy kind that mounts on the wall. I kinda miss the towel art from the old version as well. The property still has the amazing garden in the front of the motel, and they've definitely improved on that. They've added a groovy fountain and some outdoor speakers playing soft atmospheric music. They even have bikes they can lend you for free, which is a great way to get around Paso, and The Farmhouse is right on the main road, so you don't even need to pedal that far. Don't get me wrong, this is a nice motel, and I was excited to stay here again, even after hearing the new room rates when I first booked the room. Back in 2016, I gave The Farmhouse a full throated Five Stars, but, for north of $350 for one night (almost triple what I paid in 2016), I'm not sure I'll be staying here again.NOTE- I have updated my review for a third time, after talking with David Katz, the general manager, I was informed why the rooms have changed so little, it's all about the zoning. And I was unaware that some rooms have microwave/fridges, but not all of them do. Im guessing those rooms cost more. And as for the price, the room I was in would have been closer to around $200 if it hadn't been Memorial Day, maybe just avoid those holiday weekends for this location. I have included some new photos, but also left all the pics I took back in 2016, so you can all see the transformation The Farmhouse has made. Check the date on the pics to see the differences.

I had the good fortune to stay at the farm house in Paso Robles while driving north on 101 from San Diego to San Francisco. The facility has been recently renovated, and my room was well appointed, and its powerful air conditioner was virtually silent! I was surprised with the quality of the breakfast, which included a variety of local croissants, and quality yogurts, as well as a selection of coffee and teas. I look forward to staying there again on my return.

We'll def be back! Great location + easy to find, yet the rooms are tucked away from the main road + makes it feel more private + quiet. The grounds, lobby, rooms + fire pit areas are done so well. The design details are perfect and it creates a beautiful atmosphere to relax + enjoy. Even the room key is the cutest! (Whomever curated the aesthetics is a genius!) The details of this stay give the freshest, comfiest, luxurious feels! The in-room amenities are perfect + the bed was SO comfy! Perfect after a day of exploring. Parking is tight, but we didn't have an issue.Things to keep in mind... as this is a pet-friendly stay (so awesome, we brought our pup!) I would suggest additional trash cans. There was only (1) in the bathroom, which would be fine, but there is also an amazing wet bar to use, plus a pup, so it would be helpful to have another place to dispose. We couldn't find anywhere outside of the room to dispose of our pups waste (but maybe we just didn't look hard enough?) For a weekend trip with a dog, multiple people + a wet bar it's just something to think about. Additionally, our pup is small enough to fit under the bed, which is totally fine, except they ended up finding a pill that was previously dropped and hidden out of our view. Luckily we grabbed it before it could be ingested - but again, just something to me mindful about. Overall this is DEFINITELY on my list of return stays in Paso! I HIGHLY recommend + know you'll love it! We (+ our pup!) did!

If you're looking for corporate, standard fare lodging, keep looking. Each lavishly refurbished room in this 1950's motor court is filled with unique and handmade decorator items artfully placed throughout. Super friendly and helpful staff at every level. Breakfast features locally sourced gourmet pastries and coffee with linen napkins. The only thing that stopped me from giving five stars is the complete lack of in-room information. Not only are there no instructions on how to operate the very complicated in room, coffee maker - which, by the way, I never got working - there is no information regarding checkout times, TV operation, local food, options, etc. Apart from that, though, this is a win. Do yourself a favor. Stay here.

We booked last min and I am so happy we did. My husband and I loved it so much here! Everything about this place! So many cute photo ops from the lobby to the outside to the fire pits and the room! It was so cute with a luxury vintage appeal and the bed was so comfy I could have stayed for days. The breakfast croissants were amazing you have to try the ham and cheese! Also the staff was super friendly and professional. My only complaint is that my stay wasn't long enough! We will most def be back and for a longer stay next time!
