I have been to this one a good amount of times and usually the same gentleman is there out back. Never have I experienced rudeness or felt like an inconvenience. If there was anything they weren't able to accept, he gladly let me use the dumpster on sight. Even helped organize items in to their appropriate bins while busy with other stuff people dropped off. The bad reviews are likely from those that brought trash worthy items here and asked for a tax receipt, likely a good way to irritate an employee or volunteer at any donation center.

Horrible! Rude, unhelpful, and treated me like an inconvenience even though I was giving them antique and high dollar items. Never again!

6/27/22 This donation center in PR has gotten consistently bad ratings. To all the annoyed, aggravated & disheartened ... perk up! There is another Goodwill donation center in the North County. It is combined WITH the GW store in Atascadero & is located BEHIND the store. The Atascadero on El Camino Real in the Food 4 Less plaza. This center does not require you to separate your items & if you have a lot - they will provide you will a shopping cart to put them in. They will also provide you with a generic, blank receipt (for tax purposes) if you ask for one. The donation staff has always been pleasant & friendly to me. If you're willing to drive the distance to donate, it's worth the effort. Their hours are different than the store hours, however. You can call the store ahead of time & get both the set hours for the donation center & the hours for that day if they will be closing early for some reason.

Better off to throw your stuff away than deal with this place. They make u separate everything into bins block you from putting stuff in the bins while they sort thru to be sure there is nothing in the wrong bin get mad at you for bringing clothes in garbage bags and it is just ridiculous. It is an inconvenience to them to accept donations. I will avoid from now on and just throw everything away.

I try to go here all the time to drop stuff off and a lot of times they have a stupid little sign up that says they are not available for like a half hour but with no start time, and it's at a different time like I'll drive up and the sign will be up at 11 or 3 it is always up, When I do get in the people are snippy and rude. I started giving my stuff to other small and local thrift stores instead ! If your interested In switching, I suggest Fred and bettys in San Luis, it's locally owned, helps the local schools, and the staff is super friendly!

Rude person receiving the donation items. They want you to sort all your donated items yourself into separate categories... as I was doing this the attendant starts saying to everyone that he's about to cut it off since he's only one person (it was 11:35am) Sorry- but I have my own job to get to- this is your job... and Goodwill is profiting from my free items. Goodwill is not a non-profit business. Therefor in my mind... they should be the ones taking the time to sort my items. I opted to donate to a different thrift store- perhaps one that is actually a charity, there are several in Paso Robles.

Consistently rude and unhelpful staff- before and during and after COVID. Why is this? I am a nurse and when people are unhappy I am spoken to and the patient is absolutely heard and the sitch corrected. Why isn’t this the case in this situation?????

Tried to drop off a truckload of new stuff. The two rude and hostile women, said each item had to be sorted by me into bins due to social distancing. Having people stand next to each other, separating items in a parking lot increases whatever risk they are talking about. Isn't that their job.Called NCI affiliates in Paso Robles they cheerfully took my stuff, with a smile. Donation center Linne rd behind post office. I will never ever donate to Goodwill again.
