I used to shop here often but I find I shop here less as they bring in more and more decor and toys and less actual crafting and art supplies. I can buy standard size picture frames at Ross and Target in the same plaza. I want to go to Michael's for thread, notions, and specialty art supplies.

I needed a frame for an 8x10 blow up that I had made of one of my sons and his wife. There was a gentleman who helped me and tried his hardest to find something that would work so that we wouldn't lose very much of the photograph due to the matting. Then a woman showed up and the man I guess was off his shift. I said we'd had trouble retaining the maximum amount of the photograph and I would go ahead and take the original frame and matting that was included with that frame, because it was the best that we can find. The woman proceeded to tell me the matting was not included with the frame! Wrong! The matting was included with the frame and it was in the unwrapped frame that we hadn't even looked at behind the one that we were using as a sample. I explained to her that the matting was included, she insisted it wasn't, basically calling me a liar! Not okay!!! There were two frames with the aqua/turquoise color in the 8x10 size with matting included!! She stormed off to go down the aisle to show that there was no matting included with the frame, and I walked out of the store. She obviously did not know the product, and refused to believe me, insisting that I had not told the truth or did not know what I was talking about! I really needed that frame, for a special occasion, and the madding, should anybody go looking in the frame section, does include a matting under the plastic protective cover, so it came with the frame! It's very frustrating when you try to support local businesses and then you get treated like you're a crook. She should really be ashamed of her attitude the way she treated me, but I have to say that the man who was helping me initially was wonderful, patient and even tried to see if he could make a matting that would give me a more visible photograph. He most certainly is to be commended for his effort and people skills. I hope he gets a raise, because in this day and age there are many wonderful salespeople, but there are also very obnoxious ones who have no problem just being rude or ignoring you. Hats off to the gentleman! And hats off to the cashier at the front of the store, as I purchased a few picture hanging items and she was so very gracious and very very helpful. No sour grapes at the front of the store

Heavily marked down Everything Holiday. The staff was still spreading the joy, helpful in looking for fireplace wallpaper and the associates upfront dealt with us very friendly and professional.

Rebecca in Framing Department gave me exceptional service. I had bought a print that was not a standard a size without realizing it. She was so patient and helped me picked out a mat and frame. Wonderful to have an employee like her! I definitely recommend Michaels if you need framing.
