Had a reservation to pick up a moving van at 9:00am, and had planned our day around that. Arrived at 8:55 and waited. Business opens at 9, but no one showed up. At 9:30 the guy shows up, and tells us it's going to take a while for the computer to boot up. Very unapologetic. Ended up just walking out and calling the corporate number to cancel. We'll figure out a plan B. On a side note, the car stereo/truck rental/doll emporium looks like it's a front for something else.

Really pay attention to the mileage when you pick up and return. We live literally 2 miles from the rental spot, drove down to slo to move my son to an apartment on Foothill Blvd (34 miles), and drove back. Figured 90 miles at the absolute most and we were charged for 111 miles. Of course we didn't realize until after we left so beware.

We rented a 26 ft truck and trailer from TN to Paso. Upon showing up at Penske in Paso Robles doors were locked during business hours with a man sitting inside. I knocked standing in the rain and he was hesitant to even get up from his desk to help. The trailer was returned that day so we could unload the truck the following. When my husband returned the truck the following day he was greeted with the same unfriendly locked door vibe as I was the previous day. He was then informed that we incurred another day charge for not returning the truck at the same time we picked it up. Horrible customer service from Penske in Paso!

The quote I got was almost double the quote I got from U Haul. The man who answered the phone was nice enough but was distracted by the cats in the shop. Just found it odd that he would share that with me. I asked when they closed and he said "whenever I feel like going home".
