I wanted to wait 2 months, to see how the fish would do, before reviewing. Located on Spring St, is the Pet Department. Now, one of two, freshwater fish pet stores, in SLO county. When I went in was promptly greeted, helped out and had some knowledge imparted on me. Prices are good, fish are decent. I would definitely recommend. *Some caveats. The tanks and fish could be in a little better shape. Just looks like they need some TLC*

Thank you for grooming my cat Homer today. It warmed my heart to see him wrapped in a blanket and napping while he was waiting for me to pick him up. That shows me he was treated well ❤️ I will only take him to The Pet Department from now on. I can't thank you guys enough. I would give you 19 stars if I could.

Our family visited this pet store last Saturday (7/15/23) and it was such a great experience. We went for fish, they have such a great selection and they all look so healthy and well cared for. Their prices were competitive as well. We ended up learning about the different animals they had there and they even pulled out a few for my daughters to see more closely and pet. Such a great experience.

Locally owned and very knowledgeable about all the animals they carry. We have purchased birds and mice from them who are excellent pets. Great selection of fish too. We also buy high quality cat food there. Kind employees! Welcoming and safe feeling.

Hands down the best pet store on the central coast, especially regarding their aquarium section. Excellent fresh water and salt water varieties, fantastic prices and great customer service.

I purchase feeder mice for my snake the store put them in a cardboard Box I had a long to-do list that day the mice chewed through the Box crawled up into the - and my Jeep chewed on the wires and caused an accident that I ended up with fractures and the people I hit ended up with more serious injuries.
