A truly amazing place with breathtaking scenery and fabulous hiking trails. With an elevation of 4,750 feet, the Mojave desert (Antelope Valley) is clearly in view. There is an abundance of enormous Joshua trees along the way up to this park. If you have been to Vasquez Rocks, and liked that, you will love this place even more!

It was a really cool spot to go visit. I enjoyed walking the loop. Next time I may go walk to the devil's chair, it looks like a really neat hike. It was free to get in no way, but when there was people on the trail you have to find room to let each other by. I also found a fossil of a crab which was really cool. The Rock's there look really odd, like nothing I've seen before. Definitely worth going.

Nice hiking trails with beautiful views in the canyon. There was water in the stream and some of the native plants are starting to recover from the Bobcat Fire. It's a fun little walk for all members of the family including your dogs, just make sure they're leashed at all times when visiting the park.

Best hiking near Palmdale Lancaster, super safe, fun for kids to run around. I would recommended it to anyone.

Such an odd rock formation , considering the surrounding geographic traits. It's like someone put it there in centuries past. A great hike and always educational.

What a majestic place! You have to get a little bit lucky and have nice weather but there's an easy hike down and at this time of year, especially after all the rainfall there is a fast flowing stream with tons of waterfalls. The water feels amazing on your hands and feet if you dare! Wonderful place to spend an afternoon. You should definitely bring a lunch and you can eat it down by the water. The place is recovering nicely from the mass of fire that went through the valley in 2020 . Still a lot of burnt out trees but life finds a way and things are in recovery mode. What a wonderful day trip!

While it is sad to see the damage caused by the Bobcat fire, the Punchbowl is still very much worth the trip. The trails are open, and the downed trees that were significant obstacles in the past are gone. The interperstive center is gone, and the rangers are still on site in another building. The short "nature walk" trail is in good shape, but most of the plants that used to be highlighted along the path are gone. The loop trail down into the canyon is the roughest I've ever seen it, but it's still not a difficult hike for those with average mobility and balance. I was encouraged by the regrowth I saw along the trail, and I look forward to seeing the area continue to recover.Restrooms: There are two handicap-accessible vault toilets on site.Dog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome at the Punchbowl, but should be kept on-leash and on-trail. My dogs really seem to enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of the loop trail.Picnic area: There is a large picnic area with several concrete tables. Some of the trees around it survived the fire, so there is a little bit of shade on the picnic area.

All trails were closed today. However, a few adventurous souls ignored that as evidenced by foot prints in the snow. There’s some snow and some mud but the loop trail is still enjoyable. Just bring hiking poles. Not an easy trail because the mud can be slippery. But I’d rather go there in the winter than in the summer because there’s no shade.

A beautiful and easy hike if you take the loop trail. I did lose the trail when I got to the river but found it again a bit later. Trail maps are your friend.

An absolute gem if you live in the Antelope Valley. It's a 40 minute drive from where I live in Palmdale, and totally worth it. From all the recent rain and melting snow there are a lot of creeks. The views are spectacular right now. I did the devils chair hike which is roughly 7 miles out and back. Not too strenuous, but also not for complete beginners. When you get to the devils chair, there's a cool outlook you can walk to and see some views of the area. The park is closed on Monday and the visitor center burnt down in a fire so they don't have the owls or rattlesnakes anymore. There is a mile loop you can also do and a few other trails, one of which is over 20 miles. Please remember to pack up all your trash and leave the area how you found it.
