I have been coming to this park since my young adult daughters went to Bright Beginnings. The preschool across the street from the park. I love the variety of playgrounds for kids appropriate for very young kids, and as kids grow up, there is multiple playgrounds for all ages. But there's so much more! Trails going through the trees, and I love how there are garbages along the trails. And mostly, residents have enough respect to not litter. But we need to definitely credit the maintenance crew. Bob Frey did an excellent job for many years, and I just wanted to give credit to a dedicated person who wanted to do what he could to create and maintain the parks natural beauty so we could all enjoy it. Lots of other things that make the park exceptional.Playground: Multiple for all agesRestrooms: Clean and stockedDog-friendliness: Dog park in two sectionsPicnic area: Multiple locations. Some under a roof and others more open.

Big park in Penn Valley. Access to Squirrel Creek, big playground, huge field, lots of picnic tables that are covered, amphitheater. Nothing particularly scenic or outstanding but it's a decent park. There's a farmer's market there once a week.

Its ok, there's no swings at the playgrounds that we could find. The tennis court and rc track look abandoned.

this was my first time here, and I really loved the experience. Plenty of sun, plenty of shade, safe, river, flowing by to cool your feet. I definitely will look forward to coming back and enjoying the experience again soon.

Western Gateway is the heart of Penn Valley! We’ve been coming here since the kids were little. I’m fact, when they were little we use to go almost every day. With two playgrounds, tons of room to run, a creek and swimming hole, and trailers to explore - it was easy to keep the kids entertained. Now that they’re older, we don’t go as much; but there are still things to do - Farmer’s Market, Movies in the Park, special events, and more.
