Rooms were clean and had a unique feel to it. The service was great as we were treated with respect, and they were willing to assist us with questions we had. The location is a 12-minute walk to downtown.Nearby activities: Mario's and John's is a nearby bar. This bar is a great example of don't judge a book by its cover.

Definitely one of the most unique Hampton Inns we have stayed at. We stayed in room 223 in the corner so we had two walls of windows. Long walk down the hall of lightsabers but not an issue. Hot breakfast in the morning was good. Onsite bar was open at night for drinks. Very friendly staff. Will stay here again if we're in the area.

Fun night out just because of New Years without our daughter. We love the history behind the revamp of the old Silk Mill. We splurged for a Jr. Suite with King Bed, and we loved it. It was very roomy, and with the tall ceilings, it felt even bigger. Love the small town Petaluma vibe they have in the room.Only a couple of small hiccups like no conditioner left in the shower, and we ran out of shower gel after a second shower on only a 1 night stay.Location is half mile to downtown, which could be too long for some, especially if it's cold or rainy. Breakfast was very good, but when I went, they were out of coffee, which I'm sure was refilled when I left.Overall, we had a great time and would stay again!!Rooms: I like the ability to unlock door from phone using the app

Everything in Petaluma is too expensive for me, but this hotel is pretty cool. I liked the room and the front desk folks were really nice.

When you see reviews that say this hotel has horrible customer service, believe it. We got to experience it. They’re also going to charge you extra fees behind your back without your authorization or any explanation. Rooms are nice for a Hampton Inn but the extra fees they charge you it’s not worth it.This is a hotel pretending to be dog friendly but it’s not. Unless you’re willing to pay a lot more than it’s worth, I recommend somewhere else. The general manager is just all about how much money he can get.

Wow! As a kid I was fascinated with this abandoned factory now a hotel. Excellent remodel great history property. I don't think it's marketed as it should be. Incredible place. Sunset line & twine factory built in 1800'sMore history info should be in lobby area.Thumbs up

Just came back from a two-night stay. Property is located on the other side of the rail tracks so it's not super convenient to walk downtown, but is still doable. Hotel is extremely clean and architecturally interesting as a converted silk mill. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are not the largest, but plenty big. Strangely, there are no drawers for clothes and the closet is very small, so unless you are a minimalist, you'll probably need to keep belonging in your suitcase. The bed was very comfy and the room temp was constant and we never needed to adjust the temp. We were in Room 202 and never heard any street noise. The shower is amazing. Breakfast was very good and fresh and the dining room is very large, allowing one to linger. The gym, though small, is spotless and wasn't being used the both times I was there. Would recommend to anyone in the area and wouldn't think twice about staying there again.

This is a very nice location where they took an old industrial building and renovated it into a rather nice hotel. Everything is new and very clean, except that there was a faint smell in the hallways. Not sure what that was. We stayed here for one night, and even though we were on the side of busy Lakeville Road, we barely heard the traffic. The train horn can be rather loud, though. But we would definitely come back when we're in the area. The hot breakfast was good and there was plenty of choice. We saw various people working out in the gym, so that must be good as well.

From start to finish, this was an amazing stay. I have been a Diamond Member for 10 years and stayed at many Hamptons. The hotel and rooms are beautiful and the location is so very convenient. The attention to retaining the detail from the silk mill is stunning. I have never found myself staring at the window shades before but the customized map of Petaluma was a beautiful touch. The AC system is quiet and comfortable. And the staff was so very accommodating, making recommendations for winery's to visit. We can not wait to come back and bring the kids! This hotel is beautiful and comfortable. All the things that you need while traveling for business or pleasure.Rooms: Beautiful!Safety: Felt very safe walking to downtown.Walkability: Easily walked to downtown for dinner and coffee.Food & drinks: Super quick walk to the main portion of town.Noteworthy details: The historical details in the hotel are stunning and very interesting!

I was a bit disappointed with this visit. The room didn't cool down enough. I had a king bedroom, which was fine, roomy enough, but it wouldn't cool down below 75. However, I love the high ceiling.I don't like that there is no way to reach the front desk directly. This time, the front desk staff wasn't welcoming, and the laundry was left out in the hallway for a long time. I came back from breakfast around 10 a.m. and the hall had laundry carts and bags lining both sides of the hallway.I always stay at this location when I visit my family in the Bay Area. This is the first time I've given less than 5 stars.

When I checked in around 2pm the person helping me at the front desk asked if I wanted a room on the first or second floor. I told them the second floor hoping it would be quieter. Instead they recommended room #121 on the first floor that would be quiet. I’m not sure what happened but that room is one of the closest to the busy street which you can hear trucks and motorcycles even through the closed double panes windows. On top of it we could hear the footsteps above us at night. The room also smelled like a musty old dog which was a nice touch. When I went back a few minutes later to ask for a different room, they said all the rooms on the other side of hotel were now all booked as well as everything on the second floor. The hotel facilities were actually very nice, if it weren’t for the staff I probably would have enjoyed my stay. If you stay here (which I don’t recommend) do yourself a favor and use the app to select a room on the second floor so you can bypass the front desk altogether. Also, their electric car charging is over priced at $5 for 2 hours, with $8/hr idling fees, so don’t charge there overnight. At least the front desk person warned me about that after I asked about their charging.Noteworthy details: Don’t use their over price electric car charger
