The KOA Campground is a popular destination that has been a favorite among campers for nearly 20 years. The staff is described as very friendly and helpful, and the campground itself is clean, safe, and well-maintained. Amenities include a rock climbing wall, a petting zoo with goats, roaming cows, and a large park with seating areas and a dog park. Guests can also pay extra for a bench swing with a fire pit and grassy area. However, some reviewers noted a few downsides. The campground can be expensive due to its location and resort-style amenities. There were also reports of a strong plastic-burning smell at night, and issues with the hot tub being too hot. One reviewer mentioned the food truck options were not ideal for those looking for healthier fare. Despite these minor complaints, the KOA Campground is generally praised for providing a great family-friendly experience. Reviewers highlighted the abundance of activities for kids, including a jump pad, Halloween events, and ample freedom to roam. The cabins were also a hit, making the cost more manageable. Overall, the KOA Campground is highly recommended, especially for parents looking for a relaxing getaway while their children enjoy the various on-site attractions.
KOA was fine but there was a strong smell of like burning plastic outside at night. Was a camper burning something plastic or what? It was pretty bad there was even a bit of haze from it. Yuck.

One of my favorite things about the KOA in Petaluma is all the beautiful flowers here. This is where we stay when visiting family in Santa Rosa. Staff members are always friendly & helpful.

We have been back a few times. Apparently the one time with people everywhere partying was the Halloween event. The other times it has been nice. Peaceful and well maintained.
