“Owner (I think) was extremely helpful in finding what we needed. When I mentioned a non-alcoholic wine, he introduced me to Muri, which is a brewed drink rather than a wine with alcohol removed.”

“Pit stop after hiking nearby and visiting Nicasio Valley Cheese farm.Picked up duck fat, triple creamy cheese, THE original breakfast cheese, and a baguette for the picnic experience. Friendly staff.Lake area is beautiful. The baguette was so hard it could have been effective as a weapon--please have better baguette.Did not use the tiolette.Deli closed at 4:00 PM.Big variety to buy.Posted on my facebook page and friends put it on their travel itinetary.May the service be consistently friendly, the baguettes fresh, and others enjoy French Marin as much as we did.”

“First of all, this is a wine shop. If you are an up-tight wine snob then go elsewhere. However, if you know wine, and you’ve explored local California wines but are tired of fruit bombs, oak, butter, and exorbitant prices … then Jason will open your eyes to wines from all around the world that are affordable! Keep in mind he can sell you a glass or a bottle but cannot give you a free taste because of his license … so don’t friggin ask! However, he can keep you laughing until you have to run to the bathroom … just remember to pat the gnome on the nose!”

“We have a lot of places to buy wine in Petaluma, so I was really surprised that yet another wine shop would be opening up in downtown. After frequenting the shop several times, I've come to really enjoy their selection. Their proprietor, Damien, is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about wine. The selection in the store isn't vast, but there's a focus on smaller producers you're unlikely to see at other shops in or out of town. In the past 18 months, we've purchased over 30 bottles from Avinage - some from regions and/or of styles we know we enjoy, but many others simply on Damien's recommendation. Of the bottles we've opened and enjoyed, every single one has been great! When we've brought wines from Avinage to dinners, we're always complimented on "our" selection.Additionally, you'll find wines of all price ranges, from under $20 to over $200+ from everywhere around the world, including local, small producers. Whether you're looking for a bottle to lay down and age or one to enjoy right away, you're guaranteed to find something great at Avinage.Lastly, they've recently been hosting FREE instructional tastings where you can meet the importer/distributor/winemaker and taste some of their recent offerings. Do yourself a favor and get on their mailing list or follow them on Instagram to find out when the tastings are happening! One tip - parking in front of the store is quite challenging so skip that and park on the street around the corner on 4th St/B St, near the hardware store. It's a 2 minute walk and there's generally plenty of street parking.”

“Has a delicious sandwich here! My partner got a ham/cranberry special and I got the Haley. We ended up liking each others order better than our own individual order! Great spot, kind staff and service. Cute little spot.”

“Was in desperate need of a quick bite before a show at the Cinnabar. Everything else near was closed. The sandwich counter had been put away for the evening, but the clerk was nice enough to make me a quick sandwich nonetheless. Very grateful ?”

“I have tried a few of the offerings that were made by Sweetwater (which were all excellent), but this review is for another aspect. I went there today with a friend. We had made an appointment to tour the distillery. The gentleman that gave us the tour was awesome. He took time out of his day to show us around and explain every detail we could think of, and quite a few we couldn't imagine! He showed us the stills, the barrels, and everything in between. It was a great experience, and quite educational. While there is no tasting there, and you can't buy anything directly, they are happy to tell you where you can purchase things. Actually, you can find some (excellect) grappa at the port tasting room right next door! Thanks for the tour. We had a blast, learned a lot, and will definitly be purchasing as many of your offerings as we can find.”

“The cleanest store in town. (probably anywhere) I've been going in Fairwest Grocery for almost 20 years. When I walked in 20 years ago, I said to myself, "this store is clean!" I walked in yesterday and what was the owner doing? Wiping down counters after every single person checked out, cleaning the shelves, clean, clean, clean. And they ARE NOT overpriced. For the service, the cleanliness, THE SMILE, and the product selection, it's priced just right.”

“This place is a great find - I put together a great system, that has saved SO much wine. (5lb argon tank, regulator and sparge). And they answer questions! With useful answers! (btw there are Great gifts there too)”

“I'm a loyal Raley's customer and have been since the Petaluma store opened. While the produce department has always been the saddest Raley's produce I've ever seen, I have remained loyal. Today, however, I have to speak up. I'm one of those customers who will bag my own groceries if no bagger is available. I'm just standing there anyway, so it's not a big deal. Today's checker just watched me when he was done ringing me up, then proceeded to watch me load all of those bags into my cart. I had six, so he had plenty of opportunity. He didn't even try to help or offer assistance. My complaint is not necessarily with the checker. It's with management who hires these young adults and then doesn't train them properly! Most checkers thank me for helping them out but this young man just stood there watching. Come on, managers! Help your new employees to be successful! They are the face of your business, and your customers should feel appreciated. (Please note that this is not my usual experience at this store, so maybe that's why it bugged me so much.)”

“BevMo is a chain of liquor stores that are all basically the same selection and layout. The overall variety of liquor is good, the selection within a liquor or wine category is good as is the pricing.”

“Had my first experience with Safeway at Sonoma Mountain Parkway in Petaluma.I was looking for Manicotti shells. I looked in Petaluma Market, WHole Foods, and Safeway on South McDowell. No joy!Another google search led me to Safeway at Sonoma Mountain Parkway. I called their customer service. The phone was answered by Sabrina, she asked me how many packages I wanted, then asked me to hold while she checked. When she returned she told me they would be at Customer Service with my name on it. I asked where Customer Service was and one of the staff pointed to a point across the store. There was no one at the desk, but I found my packages, checked out, and went home to make my first-ever manicotti.I hope someone will tell Sabrina "thank you very much".She's the first person at a Petaluma Safeway that I've reviewed.I'll be going to her Safeway store first from now on!”

“Ordered a few times without issue. And no, a retailer is not responsible for a decades-old bottle of wine "going bad." It's the risk you take as a customer.”

“I wanted to grab a cold beer and saw the sign that said liquors. Well liquor is in abundance but the beer selection is severely lacking. I also needed a few common market items which they had, so no issues there. The place is very dated but the store seemed to be a local favorite from I could tell.”

“As I was familiar with this particular store and pharmacy, it was the first place I thought of when I needed to get a prescription for Paxlovid. It was day two of having symptoms for COVID and time was critical for starting this Rx. The pharmacy received my prescription and got it ready promptly and, as promised, gave me a call. I had given them my insurance information over the phone. I asked what my cost will be and they said something like, there should be no cost. When I got there, wearing a mask, doing the final paperwork I was informed, due to some glitch with my insurance there was a $12 balance. I didn't care, I needed to get this. The supervisor on duty took note and said, "That's not right, there shouldn't be any cost." Who was I to argue. The supervisor went to their workstation and started entering or re-entering my information. It took a few minutes, but they came back, saying, "There you go, no charge." I was truly impressed with the above and beyond the usual level of customer service that is so often seen. The takeaway is not that I got my prescription at no charge, it is that the staff showed concern and tried to correct some problem with my insurance. A heartfelt, thank you for your help.PS, the Paxlovid really helped.”
