About Shollenberger Park
Shollenberger Park is a popular outdoor destination in Petaluma, offering a variety of activities and natural experiences. This flat, two-mile walking trail along the Petaluma River provides ample opportunities for strolling, running, or simply relaxing on the many benches scattered throughout the park. The park is known for its abundant birdlife, with visitors often spotting a variety of species going about their daily lives. While the birds may not be terrified of humans, it's best to maintain a respectful distance and observe them from afar. The trail is wide enough to accommodate walkers, joggers, and cyclists, with the pavement and gravel paths offering different surfaces to explore. Shollenberger Park is particularly well-suited for those with mobility challenges, as the trails are well-maintained and accessible. The park also features a restroom and a water fountain near the entrance, as well as a small parking lot that can accommodate most visitors. One minor downside noted by some reviewers is the presence of large rocks in the gravel sections of the trail, which can be uncomfortable for those wearing lightweight shoes. However, the overall consensus is that Shollenberger Park is a delightful and serene natural oasis, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

I didn't know much about it and found out that it's fantastic for walks and runs, strollers, or just sit on one of the many benches and talk and enjoy the environment.
