The service is appreciated for its convenience, with drop-off points like Pier 5 at the Ferry Building making the journey simple and enjoyable. Many riders find the staff friendly, engaging, and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. There have been positive experiences with passengers returning lost items, demonstrating the staff's honesty and kindness. However, there are some challenges with the pass system, especially for seniors and youth, as acquiring passes can be difficult due to confusing requirements and an office that’s hard to find. The passes require in-person visits and ID for children, which can be an impediment, especially for those with mobility issues or limited resources. Despite this, SMART remains a recommended and convenient option for regional travel, with a smooth and pleasant experience for most riders.
