The reason for my one star review is because when my bf went to deposit his check into his account with a teller, the teller asked very personal questions insinuating that the check wouldn't clear and ended up putting a hold on it...this is the third time this has happened to him and I find it very disrespectful. We are a young family living on one income in this economy, having a 5 day hold on his check affects our day to day living. The tellers last name was WOLFE.

Customer service closed on holiday weekend. No way to report suspected fraud. On Tuesday, when it was "open," the wait times to report fraud were 46 minutes and then 55 minutes. Reporting it online was useless as no one responded after 24 hours. "Customer service" simply doesn't exist.

Tim is a great guy with GREAT people skills; he has helped me out numerous times and the rest of the staff is super friendly also!!!!!!!!!

Jim, Cindy and Stacey are the best. We switched over in 2020 and have never regretted it. They recognize us when we come in and we get first rate service with a small town friendliness. It's casual and you feel like a person not an account number. Thanks Umpqua!

The manager Tim is a completely rude and so blatantly arrogant, I can't believe that this guy has not been fired!!! After having several arguments with him, and after asking for an accounting of where my money went, he told me that I would have to prove that there was an error before he would do anything and that there would be a charge of forty dollars an hour to do this. I have been at this bank for six years and only made six transactions. I closed my accounts, told him what a rude and arrogant j*** he was and left. Took my money over to Redwood Credit Union where the customer has a stake in the business and where the customer is treated with dignity and respect. It's called professionalism, something manager Tim knows nothing about. The ladies are all so courteous and polite. It's true that one bad apple does spoil the whole bunch.

For my boss, I conduct a lot of business at this Umpqua branch. The female tellers are fantastic; besides being knowledgeable, they have "people" skills. The one male teller is not rude, but definitely doesn't have the aforementioned skills. I would have issued a higher rating, except for an unpleasant experience with the vice president, Tim S. Because of an unusual situation, I was directed to his desk for approval. He kept his eyes on the computer screen, never issued a greeting or a smile (even after I finally said hello), acted angry and then told me I had to return to the teller. If Tim S. thinks customer service is the responsibility only of "front line" personnel, he is sadly mistaken. I have observed him several times since my encounter and he is not the "face" of Umpqua. Had he been my first contact there, I would never return to that bank or that branch.

I've been trying to close my account with Umpqua bank for over a month now. Initially I called into their customer service line and their representative said that I needed to sign in online and create a message and state that I wanted to close my account. So thats what I did, and Umpqua responded that they needed additional approval from the Petaluma office before they can close the account and they would be contacting me. It has been over a month since I put in my request and nobody has contacted me. Meanwhile they keep taking fees from my account. This is very bad customer service. I will NEVER be banking with Umpqua again. I recommend you look elsewhere for your banking needs

I love Umpqua and the people at this branch are exceptionally​ nice and great to talk to. Switch to Umpqua for a much better banking and experience.
