About United States Postal Service
The United States Postal Service location in Phelan is described as offering walk-in passport services, with staff noted as friendly, helpful, kind, respectful, and working hard. Customers appreciate employees who go out of their way to help resolve issues and fill out applications. However, the post office is frequently described as too crowded all the time, often appearing understaffed with long lines of 20 to 30 people. This is attributed to a lack of funding and the increased volume from package delivery, which can cause delays of several days for receiving packages. Limited hours are also noted as a challenge, particularly with the shift to more online shopping. Despite these operational difficulties, the staff receives praise for always doing their best to serve customers in this important rural area.
