“If you're looking for an enchanted garden venue, look no further than The Secret House of Ivy in Downey, Ca. You can drive by this place over and over and you'd never know what a beautiful place lies just behind the doors. Pictures absolutely do not do this place justice. The moment we walked in we fell in love. It's gorgeous. The twinkling lights and the Ivy covered walls transports you out of Downey into a little wonderland. We are beyond excited to host our daughter's quinceañera here and my husband and I definitely hope to have a vow renewal there in the future too. Karina, Luisa and Lily have been so helpful every step of the way in helping get all the ducks in a row to give our teen the perfect enchanted garden quince. I'm so glad we found this venue.”

“Everything was amazing!! Walking inside for the first time was absolutely magical, there was soft piano music playing and all the lights cast a soft glow. The Halloween decorations were amazing and hilarious. The bed was super comfortable, the food was amazing. If I’m ever in California again, this is definitely where I’ll be staying.”

I have nothing negative at all to say about Friendly Hills Country Club. My experience has been amazing even from reaching out to inquire. TAYLOR is awesome! So sweet, kind, and helpful! I had a vision of how I was going to combine 2 birthdays into one and Taylor was very accommodating answering my million questions.

The price was reasonable and the food was spectacular! Everyone kept saying how good the chicken and veggies were. Not your typical bland chicken wedding food. So delicious!

I removed the dance floor to accommodate the children's playground and it worked perfect! I was able to use the restaurant chairs (since they look nicer than the regular chairs that are provided). They worked around my late guest (fed them even when so many were late). The staff is very nice as well! Every time I stopped by they were really nice (guy who sets up the rooms for events, waitresses, set up manager) they even offered to charge my computer in his office so that it would be fully charged and ready for when I wanted to play a slideshow on the projector.

The warehouse vibe and mix of large indoor and outdoor spaces allowed us to get really creative with our plans. The way the sun hits is truly magnificent and makes for amazing photos, but is even better in person. Also, working with Monica was a joy. She’s extremely helpful and responsive, and was keen on helping in all the specifics of our wedding. If an open, blank canvas style space is the vibe you're after whether a wedding or photo shoot or other event, definitely check out The Revery.”

“I went to a wedding reception here...have to say it's a pretty cool place to have a party or venue...it's in the industrial part of town..so loud music is no problem..and the building is old with it's awesome new deco vibe...the parking outside kinda sucks...and definitely not in the greatest and safest area of downtown Boyle Heights..but still..it's definitely a great place to consider...I would go to this place again and again..”

“It was a really fun experience, and we would definitely do it again. At the middle of the experience the sound and the whole video game started to cut off, and we had to remove our equipment and get out of the room to ask for help. The staff was able to help us and continue with the experience, but it did take some time to reset the game and put on the equipment again. Other than that, everything was great.”

“It's a great place to find a class, workshop, or exhibition that share the narratives of so many Latino@s in LA. They provide community space and offer free or low-cost programs for LA residents to share and preserve our roots through arte and stories. This has also been the home of LatinaFest for 6 years and is a blast to attend in the right weather. The parking is a bummer but if you can find all-day parking there is so much to enjoy and discover. It's in the heart of LA across from Placita Olvera, near Chinatown, near Grand Station, and even close to Los Feliz Flea at Vintageland.”

Javier allowed me to decorate a day before obviously for an extra cost He was very easy to work with. One of the things that I love about this venue is the fact that his staff are very welcoming and accommodating to each table. It almost feels like you have your own private server. They were on top of the service. The food was really good and tasty. Overall highly recommend this Banquet hall. I worked in Los Angeles and everybody has good service. Also, a big shout out to the DJ Jaime Quintanilla! He really did pay attention when we said we want it to sound like a nightclub and how we like House music and he Went out of his way to keep the party going. “This is a great local ballroom studio for people wanting to learn all types of ballroom dance. The dance floor is huge with plenty of room for multiple lessons going on at the same time. There are some afternoons or evenings that have social dance hour, so you might want to find out when those events are... whether you want to attend at those times, or you want to avoid scheduling a lesson during those times, Lol.Many years ago we had a bad experience when out of the blue, the management decided they did not want children dancers in the studio. My son was training in ballroom in preparation for a competition. His partner was actually the professional ballroom teacher's daughter. But we were forced to go to another studio to dance. Needless to say, that was not a good experience. However, I understand that management has changed, and now, under the direction Brenda, it has a much friendlier atmosphere and routinely there will be young students training there as well. Definitely this is a training ground for a future professional competitors, as well as a great place if you want to be motivated or inspired by seeing what others can do, as well as take their group lessons.”

“Winter Camp was such an amazing experience for my boy. It was his first time attending Oodles and he felt comfortable and welcomed since day one. He truly enjoyed it. “We had my daughter's Quinceañera here just yesterday and it was an amazing experience. The owner Michael, was welcoming from the beginning to end. Answered every question I had. He completely worked with us to help bring the room to life. He's also very flexible. He also referred us to a bartender, Vince and he was amazing as well. We chose the Birria as the main course and food was delicious. Wait staff was attentive to our needs and served our guests as they arrived. Security was great. I met part of the cleaning crew at the end and she was amazing as well. Overall a great experience with the owner and so glad I chose Smart's Banquet Hall to host my daughters Quinceañera. “I attended a wedding and reception here. The patio area where the ceremony took place was quaint and beautiful! Although it was a hot sunny day, there were several shaded areas. The reception was inside in the banquet room, which was beautifully furnished with lounge chairs, couches, mirrored walls and long finished wood tables and chairs.”

“I initially went here today to get my gas bill paid, but the funding was exhausted. I met Evelyn, and we hit it right off. Everything in my life was going wrong, and I DO mean everything. My mom passed away in 2017, my close friend and landlord Jerald (the first person I met when I came to California in 1977) had a quadruple bypass surgery 11 days ago (he's healing well, for 84 years), and my good friend Erik passed away 4 days ago, I have known him since I came to California too. Don't worry, I am seeing a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, things have been that bad. And in comes Evelyn. She went above and beyond to help me out, she paid the electric bill (I have to call her on Jan. 2 to make sure about gas funding), and to top it all off, she brought me a cart full of groceries, all name brand and all stuff we use. She is truly an angel on this Earth. She deserves a much-needed raise. She didn't have to do the things she did. And she was so pleasant and upbeat, it completely changed my frame of mind.
