“If you're looking for an enchanted garden venue, look no further than The Secret House of Ivy in Downey, Ca. You can drive by this place over and over and you'd never know what a beautiful place lies just behind the doors. Pictures absolutely do not do this place justice. The moment we walked in we fell in love. It's gorgeous. The twinkling lights and the Ivy covered walls transports you out of Downey into a little wonderland. We are beyond excited to host our daughter's quinceañera here and my husband and I definitely hope to have a vow renewal there in the future too. Karina, Luisa and Lily have been so helpful every step of the way in helping get all the ducks in a row to give our teen the perfect enchanted garden quince. I'm so glad we found this venue.”

“Charming Victorian house turned B\&B with beautiful period decor. Each room has its own vibe — I stayed in the Rose Room with a clawfoot tub. The breakfast was homemade and better than most cafés. Hosts were warm and attentive but never intrusive. Peaceful, historic neighborhood. A total gem if you like unique stays”
“We had the great pleasure of having our wedding at The Revery, and it was beyond perfect. The warehouse vibe and mix of large indoor and outdoor spaces allowed us to get really creative with our plans. The way the sun hits is truly magnificent and makes for amazing photos, but is even better in person. Also, working with Monica was a joy. She’s extremely helpful and responsive, and was keen on helping in all the specifics of our wedding. If an open, blank canvas style space is the vibe you're after whether a wedding or photo shoot or other event, definitely check out The Revery.”
“It's good to have the Stand Up Comedy Club in Bellflower, so close to my house. Comedian Jiaoying Summers was very funny. Food and drinks were pretty good too.”
“We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the East Angel on October 5, 2024. I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, it was the BEST venue for the type of wedding we wanted. The space needed to be cute on its own but also have a totally customizable feel - and the East Angel was just that! Our handmade colorful decor mixed so well with the furnishings/details already at the venue. We also knew we wanted a space where guests couldn’t splinter off into different rooms (like a hotel). The goal was to keep everyone together in a space that felt intimate - but was actually very spacious! We had around 205 seated guests and brought in a good-sized dance floor and it didn’t feel crowded or cramped at all!
Working with Kirsty was so much fun - she was very open to our ideas and excited to help us see them out. She also had fantastic vendor suggestions and guided us to a brilliant wedding coordinator. Between Kirsty and our coordinator, we felt SO taken care of and were able to let loose and have a total blast on our wedding day!! I’m a fairly cynical person but it honestly was one of the best days of our lives. The energy and vibes were immaculate and the warm, welcoming space at the East Angel is largely responsible for that! Cannot recommend them enough!!”

I want to thank Vivian and Yazmine for being very friendly, helpful and patient with the planning. Staff ladies were very nice. “I never expected to find such a cool historic site in Compton. The adobe building dates back to the 1800s and gives a glimpse into early California ranch life. The docents were knowledgeable and really brought the history to life. It’s small but charming, with beautiful old furniture and grounds. A real hidden gem for history buffs”
“Fun place for a night out with friends or family. They can accommodate for large groups with 32 bowling lanes. They serve small appetizers, have a boba and bar area, pool table and some arcade/claw machines.
The are multi-stall restrooms, clean and are handicap accessible.
There's plenty of shared lot parking.
Note: they charge $1+ for a pitcher of ice water.”

“I went to the Wisdome LA Art Gallery and had a great time exploring the different exhibits. The gallery is truly an immersive and one-of-a-kind experience that engages all of your senses. The art installations were visually stunning and thought-provoking, displaying a diverse range of styles and mediums. The light and sound shows were especially impressive, adding a dynamic and interactive element to the exhibits. The staff was friendly and helpful, providing us with interesting information about the art and answering any questions we had. The gallery is also ideally positioned with abundant parking, making it easily accessible. The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is that some of the exhibits felt a bit repetitive after a while. Still, I definitely recommend”
“It was a really fun experience, and we would definitely do it again. At the middle of the experience the sound and the whole video game started to cut off, and we had to remove our equipment and get out of the room to ask for help. The staff was able to help us and continue with the experience, but it did take some time to reset the game and put on the equipment again. Other than that, everything was great.”
“I think 4 star is more proper because it is a really small place. Literally it doesn’t cost 10 mins to finish the visit.
However, the time I entered in, the fountain in the center of all greenery just hit my heart. All the ethereal feeling could easily catches my soul. I had a peaceful time with nature mom again even though it was just a short-time touch. Nature mom, Only in your arms I feel such ecstasy.”

“I initially went here today to get my gas bill paid, but the funding was exhausted. I met Evelyn, and we hit it right off. Everything in my life was going wrong, and I DO mean everything. My mom passed away in 2017, my close friend and landlord Jerald (the first person I met when I came to California in 1977) had a quadruple bypass surgery 11 days ago (he's healing well, for 84 years), and my good friend Erik passed away 4 days ago, I have known him since I came to California too. Don't worry, I am seeing a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, things have been that bad. And in comes Evelyn. She went above and beyond to help me out, she paid the electric bill (I have to call her on Jan. 2 to make sure about gas funding), and to top it all off, she brought me a cart full of groceries, all name brand and all stuff we use. She is truly an angel on this Earth. She deserves a much-needed raise. She didn't have to do the things she did. And she was so pleasant and upbeat, it completely changed my frame of mind. Evelyn deserves some kind of award alongside th e aforementioned raise. Evelyn, thank you so, so, so much! Merry Christmas, have a wonderful New Year, and may God bless! Cristine Khoury”

“It's a great place to find a class, workshop, or exhibition that share the narratives of so many Latino@s in LA. They provide community space and offer free or low-cost programs for LA residents to share and preserve our roots through arte and stories. This has also been the home of LatinaFest for 6 years and is a blast to attend in the right weather. The parking is a bummer but if you can find all-day parking there is so much to enjoy and discover. It's in the heart of LA across from Placita Olvera, near Chinatown, near Grand Station, and even close to Los Feliz Flea at Vintageland.”

“Seventh Place is such an amazing venue. We just had our wedding there and it was one of the easiest parts of our planning. I fell in love with the place immediately after attending one of the open houses. The venue met all our needs and allowed us to bring our own ideas and desired vendors. Multiple guests said they felt like they were in a movie on our wedding day. The employees that we interacted/worked with were so great and the owners are so kind. If we did our wedding again, I would choose Seventh Place again in a heartbeat. Thank you for making our day unforgettable!!”

“Great spot to come grab a drink. what I like about it, is it’s chill, not a wild crowd. Very laid back and older crowd. They randomly have food on special occasions but not on a daily basis. This is a great spot if you want to just go and grab a drink, not a spot to pick up or go clubbing just a low key chill laid back spot with an older crowd. Most places like this only allow access if you are serving or a veteran in the military; however this spot in particular welcomes all walk in guests and the drinks are lesser here than any other bar in the city or surrounding cities.”
