I've been going to Bevmo since it was Liquor Barn. I mostly buy wine and spirits; occasionally I'll try to find a beer I like better than Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, usually unsuccessfully. I'm not much of a beer guy. First thing to know is that 5 cent sale thing is a total gimmick. You can bet if a bottle of Chardonnay is priced at $19.95 but the SECOND bottle is only a nickel, you can be assured that the correct price point for that bottle is ten dollars. When I run low on wine, these days I'm starting to buy like 6 bottles at the grocery store to get the multi bottle discount that brings the price down to where it should be. I'm really starting to lose interest in Bevmo. Firstly, the pandemic got everybody used to having everything delivered, which brought us the stupid Gopuff thing. We have plenty of grocery stores around Pinole and a few convenience stores and gas station stores. We don't need to convert like 20 percent of Bevmo to a convenience store. It cuts down on the wide selection which was the main draw of Bevmo. Sloe Gin, an ingredient of my current favorite drink is now discontinued. I had to first explain to an independent liquor store manager what it was, then he kindly volunteered to stock it for me. I actually WANT to leave my apartment occasionally; I don't need wine and spirits delivered, much less paper towels or candy bars. I think it was around the time of the Gopuff conversion that the thing that really ticks me off now about this Bevmo started: Wines got vintages. You can frequently find 2 or even 3 different years on the shelf all mixed together. Which is great. I like an extra year or 2 on my Chards so I'll grab the earlier vintage when I see a couple to choose from. But watch the price on the shelf tags. It used to be common enough to see the shelf tag referring to a vintage several years old, but that was because they just didn't want to bother to change the tag every year. It's still basically the same wine, so OF COURSE the price will still be what's on the tag. (Obviously, no one would even consider putting a price tag on the individual bottle; that's so seventies.) But I've recently started noticing the shelf tag will list a price with a phrase like "2017 vintage only" but that was like 3 years ago. I got suspicious I was getting scammed so I actually started paying attention to the price they were advertising on the shelf tag and checking my receipt, and yes. They're ripping you off. I could care less about a couple of dollars one way or another -- wines vary -- but sometimes the difference between the advertised price and what it rings is huge and notice it's always off in the store's favor. The newer vintage is never less than what it's marked, it's always more. And in theory an older vintage should have a bit of a premium generally since you're paying them to "cellar" it for you. Try buying a 1985 bottle of wine and you'll get what I mean. I'm sure I come off like some grumpy old man paying with a check or exact change or something, but I've mentioned to the employees a couple of times that they need to go through all the shelf tags and update them but of course they just ignore me. It's also fairly annoying to have to shuffle through handing the cashier my ID, the member card and my phone for the coupon in the email while scanning my debit card on the point of sale scanner thing. I'm starting to feel like I should just buy wine and spirits online or at the grocery store or somewhere else. I think the Bevmo era has passed.

First and last time going to this bevmo location...Two rude workers and I think one was the manager herself!!!Walked in, no greeting and instead I get glanced at while they go back to talking. When I check out, more rudeness and lack of customer service. I'm sure if they were treated like how I was as shoppers they would be complaining too. Period... I'm not asking for ass kissing, just BASIC customer service which I guess doesn't apply to the position there? Two stars is for the product selection which is good but all bad as far as the workers I came in contact with...SAD.....

I called the pinole location at 5pm to check if they carried a specific bottle of wine. The phone line was picked up & then immediately disconnected.I called back and someone answered the line but put the phone down. The line was literally left open for 1hr & 20 mins with no one responding.During this time I decided to take my chances and go to the location and look for the wine. (Mistake on my part) There were 3 checkers standing at registers but only 1 was assisting customers. The line to purchase was going all the way to the back of the store. I decided to not wait & drove to the Albany, CA location make my purchases.I decided to stay on line since they were spilling the tea. Apparently Employee 1 doesn't like Sam, but every time she's scheduled to work so is Sam. Employee 2 took pride in the fact the the blonde haired girl that works at the Staples a few doors down and comes in all the time left when she saw the long line. Employee 3? This young lady placed a personal call while right next to the open phone line. She 1st wanted to know if the other party was watching "inappropriate" things in front of her child. But the reason for her call was to have that party drop her child off to her mom's house because her mom's car was not working. And reminded them to bring extra clothes because the child would be downright the night at her mom's house. You would think things would get better once the manager showed up... Not so fast. The manager (an older woman) wanted staff to start taking breaks at 7pm. She also let them know how annoying the phones were and said she was surprised they weren't ringing with people asking what time they closed. Employee 1 then let her know that she was able to work on 12/31 but not 1/1 because he dad went out of town to visit her aunt.By now it's 6:30p and I'm home from my purchases at the Albany location and tired of listening. But I just remembered I did meet Sam in store when I inquired about the wine I originally went for . SMH.Professionalism; customer service skills, & a servants heart means so much in the sales and retail. I feel so sorry for those that are forced to patronize this location.

So the store itself was fine, didn't realize they have expanded to carrying household items such as cleaning supplies and laundry detergent! Needed to use the restroom in this location. Store was open at 9am. Busy busy here on Christmas Eve morning! One restroom door can't be closed the other restroom 4 mins after store opened is filthy, floors gross uncleaned toilet and no toilet paper. Cleanliness is a 0 stars. The variety of product 3-4 stars. Hard to find whiskey was found here on sale even! Couldn't find the two moscatos we were in search of .. still hunting !

This review goes to an employee that works here. Give a shout out to BAMBI! She greeted me with the simple "do you need help finding anything?" And she delivered. Directed and even followed up afterwards. I don't make drinks, I don't drink often but I love being able to be served a drink, so when the wife asked to grab some ingredients for Margaritas, best believe BAMBI delivered. So if you need anything or any questions, especially if your knowledge with alcohol is not good, come to bevmo see her, she can guide you around and make suggestions. She not the type to upswell you, she'll listen and suggest stuff that you need. Thumbs up, best employee.

Just like every other BevMo, has some good variety of liquors and whiskey. The store is clean and organized. But the pricing is really high for the small thins like mixers and syrups. The Torani brand syrups are 50% cheaper at TJ Maxx and Homegoods, which are literally 2 doors down from this location

I was customer of this shop for a long time. Good selection, reasonable price, very friendly staff. Unfortunately BevMo website started very strange business. They send you coupon, you use it and site accepts this coupon. But after order pickup they charge you full price and coupon disappears from your invoice. It happens 3 times with me, after long discussion customer service returns "extra charge", but it requires time and attention. Today they played this game again and I designed to forgot this shop forever.
