Not a consistent reviewer since I’m not sure it matters. I just felt worse coming out the store than I did going in. Countless times here I feel some young staff treating average customers who are being kind, so poorly. It felt uncomfortable saying thank you and trying to ask any question, while the glammed up, probably gen z staff never did once and acted like it was a drag. Finally posted because kindness is free, let’s hopefully pass it on

I’m in the customer service industry and I’m also a nail tech and esthetician. Let’s start there. I have come into this store multiple times in the past couple of months. The people at the checkout counter are always gracious and helpful. However, I can’t say the same for the people on the floor. Each time I have come here in the past couple of months, the same female employees congregate at the makeup counter in the front of the store. They are so engrossed in their personal conversations about abusive relationships, to the places to get the best cheeseburgers, never missing a beat in their convos, and NEVER looking around to see customers needing assistance or asking if they need any help. Why is that question only asked at the checkout counter? Why do the on the floor employers think work is a counseling session / hang out?! Their job is to help customers and generate sales.
The one time I came here 2 yrs ago, that employee was so helpful, I left a raving review and spent $300+ in products. Read the room ladies. Ulta is not paying you to hang out. Ulta, train your employees to work, help customers, know products, give recommendations, to generate more sales.
The ONLY reason I come here is out of convenience as it’s close to home. I’m over thinking I’d get any assistance from anyone except those at the checkout counter. Why must your customers hunt an employee down and interrupt their personal conversations to make a simple sale?!
Ulta, revamp your customer service training STAT, and have a manager on the floor monitoring the floor. This is horrible customer service. I guess I know where to come if I want a counseling session on abusive relationships and guidance on food. Just go straight to the makes up counter to get a 2 for 1, makeup application while in a free counseling session. Outside of that, buyers beware, you’re on your own to find products let alone any help on the floor. Wake up Ulta Pinole!! Elevate the customer experience!!

Today was my first time ever going in to get my hair done at an Ulta location. I didn't even realize they offered hair services. I'm soooo grateful I went! I had Cecia as my stylist (I hope I spelled your name right 😅 I'm sorry if I didn't.) She took the time to really listen to what I want, my concerns, & checked in with me about how what I wanted would reflect on my hair type vs the picture I had. She did an incredible job with my cut & was very informative about what products would be best for different styling, without trying to upsell me or pressure me into buying anything else. She also was a great listener & held down conversation with me, which was a blessing bc I can be a yapper at times. I felt so comfortable & trusting with my hair with her, which is a big deal for me. She made this soon to be mama regain their confidence. I needed this. I hope to come back for color services & at least for sure to get my hair cut in the future. I hope she gets the flowers she deserves because she truly made my day. Also, I just want to note, I feel like you get salon salon quality service for just over the price of supercuts or something. Which is incredible for working class folks like me who wants quality hair treatment but can't afford bay area prices for salons. So thank you for keeping it affordable ❤️ Before is first picture after is the second.

I always come in here yesina she always rude with me she not say hye anything and I call any coustmer service some women has have very attitude and rude they not deserve here .why she working they not help me I’m disappointed all the time but I come in here i need something .im very dispointed

My first experience at the ulta salon was amazing. I got my hair fully colored and it turned out great! Thank you to Alyssa for making my vision happen :) definitely recommend going!

Employees are always extremely rude and give off the vibe that they think they’re better than others. They don’t seem interested to help customers at all, they should find another job if they at least can’t act like they wanna be there. Hella stuck up people. I don’t even know why ulta even hired them. I see other people having the same comments and that only further proves my point. Once again hella stuck up and ignorant people. Y’all needa hire better people that can actually do customer service instead of just being rude and mean. Plus my most recent visit, I had felt I was being treated differently since I was wearing my traditional dress, not to mention all the employees evidently come from different backgrounds.

My sister was buying her first ever makeup and was so excited, had a cashier scoff and roll their eyes and being very rude and upset when she didn’t understand some of the payment stuff the person was referring to. Great products but needs much better customer service!! Everytime I’ve needed to come for something I always have had bad customer service. Always an employee annoyed or sighing in my face when i ask a question or just plain have a rude demeanor. I drive 25 minutes to a local Sephora to feel comfortable enough to buy makeup. This is a great store but please work on customer service

Employee Monica very racist and colorist stood over two black customers while shopping when asked for her name she walked off an was very rude repeating herself bout closing while shopping don’t come here if you are black Monica is racist returning my items tomorrow

The employees, everyone I met was so passive aggressive and think calling customers sweet names takes away from the passive aggressiveness. I went in for a piercing, and the woman who did my piercing had such an attitude when I was nothing but kind. I was so excited for my piercing- but she rushed me so hard as if a piercing isn’t a hole in someone’s body. I was very disappointed because the placement was not what I wanted and she did not seem apologetic either when I told her I wasn’t happy with it, my interaction with her left me in tears. I was in tears today and if weren’t for the current manager I would have never gone to Ulta Beauty ever again. The employees absolutely made me feel so bad. Do better ulta beauty, especially as women- we should be supporting each other and listening to each other. Ulta would have definitely lost me as a customer forever. That employee and all other employees at Pinole need to go through training again.

Bad service from one of the employee so rude she had me waiting for more than 10 minutes to help me with a perfume I didn’t catch her name but I’ll be back and I will get her name. I also wanted to use my rewards points I didn’t had my actual ID with me but I have the DMV wallet app, I use the DMV app in other stores and it’s acceptable. Next time I see her I will get her name and I will record too. I’m really disappointed with the service I got from the employee I don’t understand what was her problem

I just got my makeup & lashes here by Aaliyah, oml she was the sweetest person ever. She helped me with exactly what I needed. Aaliyah would check in every step of the way, making sure I felt comfortable with what she was doing. I would come back 10000% when ever I needed her services again.
