I expected an easy, quick pickup after doing the online early check-in, and all went well until I had the keys in hand and was ready to leave with the rental truck. The first two trucks they gave me the keys to didn't start. Thankfully, there was a third truck that started up, and I was able to use that one. It had an empty gas tank, so I had to put gas into it before I could go very far. Once I put in the gas, everything went very well! The truck worked perfectly for my needs. The return was quick and easy, less than 10 minutes. The staff was helpful and accommodating, and apologetic regarding the issues with the trucks during my pickup. I'm giving a 4 star rating because of the staff's ability to pivot quickly when things went wrong and because I was able to get my needs met after the hiccups with the pickup.

Rented a pickup truck .it was fairly easy. The truck was really nice to drive. Newer Chevy but smelled like sweaty clothes! Plus the left rear tire was low on air. Used it for a run to home Depot. Will do it again when needed.

We paid for a trailer hitch for our Mercedes GLS on Sept. 5, 2020, and had an appointment on Sept 8, 2020 for install. When my wife brought the car down, she was told to wait for 30 minutes while the workers disappeared, only to have them come back out and tell her it was not in stock. We were told that they would call us to reschedule once it came in -- which they did not do. When we called, they said it was in and the same exact thing happened. Then, we got daily calls from the manager for like a week, saying the part was still not here and that FedEx was to blame, and that he would keep calling us until it arrived. The calls stopped about a week later. So, we called to cancel at the main number, waited on hold for 15 minutes, talked to the customer service person who helped us get our money back -- but, all the while, made sure to mention that it was not her and her group, that the office was separate and distinct, and that if I wanted to complain, we should call them. I mean, great customer service U-haul! Either way, I would never deal with these fools in Placentia and will not use U-Haul again.

U-Haul, U-SuckMade a reservation for a moving truck, called to confirm the moving truck, everything was great they said, you are good to go they said. Nope! They called me 2 hours before I was due to pick up the truck to tell me the truck was overbooked. Figure out a better system! Thanks for royally screwing me on moving day. Never again!

They are not mandating customers wear masks. Even though they have signs they will not enforce it. I asked multiple employees to ask a customer to wear his mask. They said they can't do it because it's not the law. I told them it was their store policy. It's clearly written no mask no service. This place is not safe.

I needed some propane so I went to U-Haul to get it filled. I pressed the button several times to ring the attendant. Then I saw a gentleman vacuuming out a van. I asked him if they still had propane and then asked if I had to pay inside. He said they did have propane and that you had to pay inside. I said, thanks anyway, not wanting to go inside and started to walk back to my car. With my back turned, he shouted, "What, are you afraid of a little Corona?" I kept walking, but that is absolutely ridiculous. I have come here to rent a U-haul before without problem, but do not expect to be harassed by an employee because I am choosing safe practices. My business will be taken elsewhere.

Thank you so much! Came for hitch install this Saturday, Tara (the store manager) was at the cashier stand. Call center did the double booking on the hitch that i placed the rash order week ago. She researched and cleared the error. I had my hitch installed with wires in less then 2 hours by Nelson. Nelson did great job, attached the bike rack that i had in the car, gave me instructions, provided outstanding customer service explaining all the warranty details. Thank you again!

First time customer , repeated customer if and when needed. Aaron went over and beyond to find a part I needed for my hitch installation "before" our upcoming vacation. They made a commitment to get my vehicle ready and they were going to stick to their commitment. I appreciate the urgency and great Customer Service. Highly recommend U-Haul in Placentia

A very poor experience. Came to get a hitch installed on my van. I had made an appointment and paid online. I did not live anywhere nearby, so it was a drive. When I arrived they did not want to honor the appointment. I begged. They conceded. They claimed they couldn't get the van on the lift. I begged. Oh wow, turns out it can go on the lift. Finally, 5 hours later, they say the hitch that U-haul website auto selected doesn't fit my car. I give up. Give me a refund. Oh, they couldn't do that either. I'd have to call their boss tomorrow. I called Tara Fierro-Matheson. She did not offer anything to fix the situation, other than a refund. A very frustrating day.

STAY AWAY - Absolutely disgusting level of customer service. Walked in yesterday to get a pickup truck for a couple hours but was utterly disappointed and ultimately disgusted with the level of customer service portrayed by U-Haul and all 3 of its associates at this location. I've worked in the customer service - automotive industry for over 15 years and know what it's like to get "busy" and have "unexpected rushes" but in no way does that give any right to treat PAYING customers in the manor that they did, complete disregard, and inhumane. What establishment literally belittles their patrons for even asking a question? ... Let me start .. Upon walking in Friday early afternoon .. the female - "manager" from what it seemed like rolled her eyes at the sight of me an my family waking through the door.. she quickly mentioned that " she thought she had employees that worked for her " and then while looking off into the ceiling asked the Hispanic gentlemen next to her to "help" the customers who just walked in.. he looked extremely frustrated with the sound of her request .. and seemed like he had just been stabbed with the task of helping another "walk in customer" No acknowledgement, greeting, or even how can I help .. simply went straight to asking if we had a reservation.. and then the daunting look on his face progressed as he found out we were a walk in .. dude we are just trying to get a picktruck .. ( the place was empty ! ) As we finally get through the process of what truck is available.. he seemingly walked away from the counter whiteout any notice to us of what to do next. . . This was frustrating.. Standing there now growing upset , he walked backed in assuming we would be having issues but we were infact waiting for him to show up to complete the rental agreement .. (maybe he went on a smoke break ? Dude looked high outta his mind).. Finally got the keys .. handled my project and went home. THE VERY NEXT DAY I had some more things I had to take care of and was upset I didn't extend my reservation for a second day .. no worries ..I checked online and they had availability for pick up Saturday morning .. COOL ! Yea right .. this was when the fun starts... Upon arriving around 10am I quickly notice a U-Haul employee yelling .. and i say this lightly .. yelling at customers as they arrive .. as if they can't comprehend English.. a patron approached him and he snapped back with " WERE YOU NOT JUST OUTSIDE?! Excuse me what ? I was genuinely upset for the patron and couldn't tolerate the sight of this GRUNGY EMPLOYEE barking his orders. His massive overgrown beard and beanie are a dead give a away .. sums up your average U-Haul employee. After trying to regain composure and keep calm to get my rental .. we were next in line to get to the counter ...almost instantly as he noticed the grunge over grown beard wearing U-Haul employee hops behind the counter to help out .. Almost like the "porter" of a dealership who is now trying to be a salesman and sell you a car... I appreciate the ingenuity and the proactively but the damage has been done, within seconds I quickly was appalled of how the manager could let him behind a counter.. no level of coherent customer service in his demeanor, and just because "it's out of your control" does not dignify the right to belittle customers just because you have a U-Haul walkie talkie an T-shirt on. The Hispanic from yesterday was standing next to him at the time and noticed he was struggling .. he advised him to put us in a 20"for trialed van because that's all they had available.. A 20" trailer really !?! After al that .. the dudes remedy to this was to give us an oversized van .. he said that's all they had .. seemed more like an intentional disregard to our request.... I'm disgusted and utterly disappointed for humanity. I stepped away from the counter and walked outta the office. Which is leaving me c
