Apple Hill: A Century-Old Family Tradition in Placerville, California The Apple Hill area of Placerville, California has been farmed by the Visman family for over a century. Mason Visman, the fourth-generation family member, has a deep appreciation for his roots and has launched an Apple Hill company to showcase the region's offerings. Visitors can enjoy a fun, nice drive through the area, with many booths featuring crafts, face painting, and a pumpkin patch. The bakery offers delightful apple donuts, and the farms provide fresh fruit for the seasons. While it can get crowded on weekends, a weekday visit allows for a more relaxed experience, with opportunities to explore smaller farms like Larsen's, known for their Bartlett pears. High Hill Ranch is a favorite, featuring delightful apple fritters and a great variety of vendor items. Whether visiting in person or online, Apple Hill promises a unique and enjoyable experience for all.
This is very near my home and I enjoy going there often. I love the views the wineries the beautiful trees I picked up an Apple fritter and a pie for dessert tonight. The rest of my family enjoyed barbecue tri-tip sandwiches and some apple cider was a gorgeous drive.
