“On Main Street in Placerville, CA, is an artist gallery. It's a co-op of local Gold Country artists. Their work is displayed for purchase in this gorgeous historic brick building. The works range from jewelry, glass, wood work, ceramics, photography, sculpture, and paintings. Surprisingly the original art work was not outlandishly priced. Plus they have small originals, prints in smaller frame sizes to postcard size that are more affordable priced. My favorite works were Jack Nissen's wood bowls and painters Carol Quinn, Barbie Smith, and Valerie Bye. To me, their art echoes the beauty of our local landscape. I easily connected with that. I bopped in when Michael and Natalie were staffing the shop. Micheal had a bright, enthusiastic attitude. He warmly greeted everyone that walked. He had a great rapport with customers. No snobby pretentiousness. Besides the art another work in the building. The building itself is a beaut. It too has a rich history going back to 1850. You can read about it on a poster near the front door.”
