Needed some screens made for my apartment windows. Not many places do this apparently. Had the absolute pleasure of meeting a gentleman named Tom. This was THE definition of hometown/neighborhood service. Thank you!

Narrow Isles, cramped quarters, eclectic displays... what is not to love about this place? Great for when you are working on a project or just looking for something fun. Also very helpful staff. This is one of those places that makes sure Placerville feels like Placerville.

This is a must go-to Hardware store like no other. Can’t have friends or family visit without a trip to Placerville Hardware. As a “Local”, I can go to find the oddest, needed item and they don’t disappoint. Or, I can find just the right gift for anyone on my list. They are a, ‘True Value Hardware Store’ on steroids! Make sure to check out the ladders on wheels there to access years gone by of stuff you didn’t know you needed till you needed it. Gold panning equipment to screen and shovel repair to kitchen items galore. And pick up some Caramel as you check out.
Take yourself or bring friends with you. You are bound to hear, “This place has so
much to look at!” You won’t be disappointed.

I went into this store with my 72yr old mom. I made a purchase then went to find her & picked up another item to buy on my way out when a sales lady told me they had a larger item of what I was buying & walked me over to see it. On the way back to the register to check out I was walking in back of the other associate a woman came from nowhere & told me I put something in my purse. I kindly told her I had just made a purchase & she told me NO YOU DID’NT I watch the camera! I was in SHOCK yall!! I went to the register & opened my bag to shower her my purchase & receipt but she suddenly didn’t want to see it. I showed her anyways because if you’re going to accuse me of stealing I’m going to prove you wrong. No one at the actual register heard her tell me I didn’t make a purchase which is literally accusing me of theft. She confronted me & was breathing really hard. I’m a well put together 47yr old woman. My sunglasses cost more than 90% of their store when I mentioned I’m not excatly the type to steal she said in front of everyone that doesn’t matter. She tried to embarrass and shame me after she wrongfully accused me of stealing when she said she was watching the cameras the whole time. I will never give them another cent of mine. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS either you will likely be treated the same should you try to check the time or grab a mint since everyone is a thief apparently at their store! No apology. Nothing. I reiterate she still tried to shame me at the register in front of my elderly mother after already embarrassing me in front of the whole store! When she was in the wrong! I would have accepted a genuine apology but didn’t get one and if your watching the cameras TRY WATCHING THE REGISTER AS WELL. Absolute trash. Used to be wonderful I’ve shopped there since early 90’s as a teen when I lived in town and now when I visit but they have changed. You lost at least one good customer for life. Hopefully others will see this and choose to shop elsewhere also. If your driving through just skip this store when you go to Main street. You will be profiled for zero reason. Just a heads up!

Love this historical hardware store. Owned for generations by same family. Ask Albert to show you the pet raccoons. Great people and amazing service. Fix the kitchen sink or pan for gold! Get down to the brass tacs here!

This store is awesome! The owner is real friendly and helpful. Staff are great. They have a good inventory of hardware equipment and other miscellaneous items such as gold mining equipment. It’s a very unique store and I highly recommend visiting.

This is a really neat hardware store with all sorts of things in it. They have your typical hardware items, cleaning supplies, kitchen stuff, gold panning equipment, home decorations, and so many other things. I'm not sure I've even been able to see everything in this store. There are so many separate little areas with more things! Staff is friendly and helpful. Store is clean. Seasonal items available. (e.g. chestnuts) Well worth a visit, it you have the time.

A great hardware store. Different from all others! And I love how the old wood floors creak while your walking thru the old building!

There's a running joke in this small town... "If you can't find it, they most likely have it" , awesome family owned store!

I went on 03/08/23 and bought a cooler the old man who helped me was very kind but another employee who came to ask me while the man returned with the price of the cooler treated me very badly rude and descriptive in the end I bought the cooler of $450.00 just because the poor man took it out of the display case and he treated me very well but I was about to buy nothing

We went on a day trip to Placerville. Did you know Placerville Hardward is the oldest hardware store west of the Rockies?! So we checked it out! WOW! What don't they have! What a fun, fun place!! It's packed with the most of everything! The Hummingbird feeders are fabulous! The kitchenware is incredible, and they sparkle atmosphere! Yeah! In a hardware store! We had so much fun. The ladies at the register were so friendly and sweet. It was like being checked out by my Grammy!
