Umpqua Bank "The world's Greatest Bank" assisted my wife in defrauding me in ways they will never know. I have had an account there for over 10 yrs along with being the branch manager for over a decade, So I know a few things about how things should work. My mentally ill wife because she is friendly was able to talk the assistant branch manager Mila into making counter checks for the account but in doing so a change was made "They added her name to the "counter check" from there my mentally ill wife was able to apply for apartments and lines of credit and so on. The largest complaint was how they handled it. They did not even care and I am filing a complaint to: Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI). Also, the OCC a branch of the department of treasury. I supplied the bank with a copy of the restraining order that covered financial and they were rude and now they will have to explain themselves to oversight authorities and I hope they do not treat future clients like this. I will be reviewing the BBB and google next. Also, when I run into long time bank clients in the grocery store it will be difficult not to share my experience but I do not want them to have a similar one and it's best to move your funds out before they mishandle you.

The people at Umpqua Bank have been more than helpful and really do care about their customers. I am a new customer and although the call center wait times were a little longer due to their merger, I was assisted professionally and am very happy. I highly recommend Umpqua Placerville and Cameron Park branches.

Terrible experiences which caused days and weeks of grief and work. Nice people work there, but the central management system is poor. Look elsewhere. I did.

Stay clear of this bank. They scam people by processing payments out of order to ensure fees are assessed. Robbing people blind with fees assessed.

When my large credit union wouldn't help me to send the closing costs for my house in a rush I remembered my account at Umpqua and called my local branch. They picked up the phone *locally* and I explained my situation and need to send out the wire transfer asap. They had me email the documents and they prepared the transfer while I was on my way to the branch. They also informed the branch manager so that they were waiting to approve the transfer when I arrived. This type of personal service is why I will never close my account at Umpqua!

Had a few disputes going on, and the ladies working in the evening were very patient, and proceeded to call and made sure I knew what was going on after hours. I was impressed by the effort in maintaining the relationship with their customers, and assuring I felt safe at Umpqua banking.

When I first moved to Placerville full time, I was looking for a bank. I tend away from larger corporate feeling banks (like BoA). The people at Umpqua were friendly (I suspect the large amount of money I was depositing had something to do with that). For a while I was fairly happy with the service. Since then I have had at least 3 instances in which very minor transactions became huge productions, primarily because of inane polices on the bank's part. The last one is the last straw, and I will be moving my funds elsewhere. Apparently, if you don't use your ATM at least once every 6 months, it becomes invalid. Fair enough, I guess, but when I was shopping for banks and questioning Umpqua in some detail about the limitations on my ATM card usage, this was never foregrounded. It seems to me that should be underscored when someone is asking the sorts of questions I was. Apparently, Umpqua's policy is to send you a notice (by U.S. mail) that your ATM card is about to no longer be valid. Well, I certainly never received any such notice--and I read my financial correspondence, especially from my bank. Second, I use the bank's online services to pay bills and deposit money several times a month. Surely a notice could have been posted there. Also, Umpqua has no compunction about sending me emails about promotions and specials they are running--yet they don't send an email to notify me my ATM card is about to expire? Really Umpqua? So the upshot is, I can deposit money but I can't really have full access to it? Once again, I will be shopping for a financial institution, that at least does me the courtesy of notifying me when it is about to take away one of my privileges.

Too bad Umpqua is going the direction of the big banks that don't care about their customers. Don't be fooled to think your little neighborhood bank is going to do their best for you. Contact me if you like for details. As much as I tried to get someone to listen to me .. nope .. no call back, no insight beyond what the computer tells them .. no courtesy for someone who has been their customer for 20 some years. Needless to say I am cancelling my account.

Good day, Yesterday I went in to apply for a loan and was greeted by a very kind Latin woman from the middle teller. Thank you! However, I was helped by ***Melanie Lastra at the first teller. She was THE RUDEST PERSON I have ever come across at a bank, (possible ever at any business). My demeanors was kind and humble. How does one complain to corporate about someone who is rude, crass, and doesn't say your welcome or thank you? Did you have a bad day? I doubt it, for she probably treats her co-workers, and customers the same way and gets away with it day after day. Everyone else there, keep your light shining and I'm so sorry you have to work with this human, because she's a horrible person who needs to retire for treating other our sons, mothers, dads grandmothers brothers and sisters in this un-humanistic manner. Best of luck to the rest
