Each year, without exception, the gas company increases the prices, blaming it on shortages of gas availability and other excuses. Oddly enough, California Edison does the same thing. The two take turns bilking California citizens. I am a verified 100% disabled veteran, living alone; yet, my gas bill is above $1000 despite having already paid $100.00 on May 3rd., and $500.00 on April 3rd. Despite my VA total disability rating, the Gas Company requested verification from my VA primary health provider. In addition to this, I am a senior citizen. These continuous, unabating increases are unconscionable. And there seems to be no relief in sight. I am going to turn to Goodwill and hope I can one-time financial assistance. Should I get assistance, I will immediately call SoCal gas to ask them to turn the damn gas off. I find myself having to phone SoCal gas to ask and plead for payment arrangements. As soon as I am able, I will move out of the State of California. Hopefully, others will do the same.

After the world's biggest gas leak in history in Porter Ranch in 2015 this gas company claimed they would not raise their rates. LOL*-*! They simply waited until now to have QUINTUPLED+ their rates. They also have the audacity to be mailing out PETTY micromanaging / SHAMER report cards on usage to keep the extra pressure on- while people pay 5 - 6 - 7 times the normal bill amounts during gougefest 2022 / 2023 while the notion is foisted and propagated now that gas = bad after over 200 years of use. All BS. Hopefully more people will wake up to this latest MONEY GRAB. THE LAST THING PEOPLE NEED is implied / veiled threat from a county organization.

There should be negative stars for companies like this. Socal gas agents call from a BLOCKED NUMBER when they are at your place, but if you are not by your phone and miss the call you'll receive no voice mail and they will not wait. I don't know ANYONE WHO ANSWERS BLOCKED CALLS. Of course they don't tell you this ahead of time. The agent argued with me and said "everyone is by their cell phones all the time." I said "well I wasn't". Then I asked her how many times a day she answers blocked calls. I guarantee you she answers none of them. The rudest, unfriendliest, most antiquated, backwards utility co. in the world.

GOD AWFUL. Protip: if you're as upset by this company as much as I am, file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau at bbb.org. From what I can tell, it's forced socal gas to speed up and improve their service for most of the cases that Better Business Bureau followed up with. If you're looking up reviews, you already know and probably are here to hate rate this fucked up place. There are no other providers so there's nothing you can do when they hit you with the most insensitive and incompetent people you ever met. I think their hiring process must require that one has no soul or sympathy for people. Some tips when you're unfortunately needing their services. *Tip 1* Schedule more than 2 weeks in advance. No joke. We scheduled service last week to set up gas and they told me it would take 2 WEEKS for them to send someone over. I couldn't believe they couldn't literally just TURN ON GAS and it would take 2 weeks for them to do this. Do they only have a single technician?! It's like we live in California and pay our taxes but socal gas can make you feel as if you live in an unregulated, lawless country where, at their whim, you have no heat, stove or hot water FOR TWO WEEKS. After begging and pleading since we we do have two elderly people with us and would have no hot water, stove or heat in the winter and (surprisingly it's super cold this year, at night its in the 40s) for 2 weeks, they miraculously managed to bump up our time to 3 days for service. *Tip 2* Document everything. Over the phone is tough but ask them to email you confirmations of every single thing. *Tip 3* Pray that you're lucky. This place is just a shit show. Coming from NorCal, I thought PG&E was bad with all the blackouts we have but SoCal gas shows a complete disregard for people in need because there is no competition for you to choose from. I'd rather be out of power and gas for a day than to wait 2 weeks for a basic utility to be turned on. Shame on you all, running utilities the way you do. Karma is a bitch.

Wait times on the phone aren't great, but the service, including service calls, have been good. The website is not good.

I swear this co. Is NOTHING but lies, they promised us service from 7-5 and we were home all day and they claimed hey showed up at our door at 3:15 pm, I called them back around 3:33 and they said the technician showed and no ones was home, they also claim he called me and he never did, we have cameras at our place and NO ONE SHOWED!! I now have to wait till Monday for them to come back and I have to wait all day again for them!! They left door tags on my door when they disconnected my services and no one left the time they " supposedly" came back, total BS!! The technician was plain lazy and didn't even bother to show up.

This review is to honor one of their Rep's, Matt, who showed up at my Mar Vista home within 15 minutes of my call....all with a smile and very caring attitude, as he said, "Don't worry, we'll get you all set up again"!! Goodness, I was given hope, as a single woman, that's a big deal dealing with her home!!! All of a sudden, NO HOT WATER, trying to bath my 3 year old daughter, get a bit of heat in the cold house, thank goodness I had the wits about me, and called So Cal Gas.. Matt was so professional, checked my complete house, changed the heater filters, in attic and basement. Actually checked every single one of my appliances, clamp on fireplace correctly. He explained every step and provided really good household tips. The culprit was the Earthquake Valve outside, which he reset! Matt is our Hero, and I hope So Cal Gas knows what an accountable and responsible employee they have in Matt. So,if you have Gas problems at your home, call So Cal Gas, they will be there and give you HOPE!!!!

Seriously??? $92.77 ????. Why is my gas bill so high??? I remember not too long ago it being $17.00!!!! I think it should be illegal that consumers have to pay for your lousy mistakes. Natural gas is supposed to be the cheapest form of energy. There should be competition between energy companies, this price gouging has to stop. YOU pay for your F-ups.

4% unemployment, Year 2019.... I called SoCalGas to come and hook me up and the first appointment available is 14 days after my move in date. That means no heating, no hot water and no cooking on my gas stove for my 3 year old and I for 2 whole weeks!!! How does that make any sense in this day and age? SoCalGas, sort it out! Employ more people if you need too. Stop counting the pennies. This is unacceptable service.

Absolutely the f*** worst. Had an appointment to start service one day prior to my move-in date. They didn't show up and rescheduled for the following Monday. Didn't show up for that as well. Rescheduled for Tuesday, and after 5 calls throughout the day, they said the technicians were taking care of emergencies and would show up at the end of the day. Kept waiting until 11pm, but never heard from them that day. The worst possible experience. Wish I had the option to get service from another supplier.

This is absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. Their customer service is garbage. If I could give negative stars I would. I spoke to the supervisor and she was no help what so ever. Their technicians do not make any effort to contact the customer they can't even at the very least knock on the door to notify you that they are there. Because of them I have lost 2 full days of work and they refuse to right their mistakes. Disgusted with this company!!!!!!
