Extremely rude when answering the phone!! Their words were "what" upon answering. Then I state where I am from, and all they can say is, "Sorry." It starts with customer service, and there was none here.

Who os the lady that answers the phone? She's really rude, unprofessional and repulsive. I've never had an interaction with a business like I had. If you hate customer service, don't be the front face of a business. Maybe you need to find a new career. Will not do business with them.

Called to make an appointment the CSR person who answered the phone was rude and couldn't give me a straight answer about simple servicing questions I had. I won't bring my car here.

Ralph brings years of experience to his shop that specializes in Import repairs. He knows VW's very well and I trust his honest advice on all aspects of repair.

An honest mechanic that knows what he is doing. I stopped letting anyone else look at my car once I realized how good he was.

Having had to deal with many mechanics in a lifetime Mr. Hoch is the most awesome one I've EVER met....and I highly recommend him.... Only wish I would have known him years ago.....

Ralph is wonderful! Showed me the parts that were changed and took the time to explain what the prior owner did for maintenance.

First thing I want to point out is that Ralph moved his shop a while back. His new address is 199 Mayhew Way. I'm not sure if it is PH or WC. Mayhew is off of Buskirk, across the freeway from the old shop, and just a block or so North of the Best Buy. His place was a little hard to find at first. The driveway is right where the bike/walking trail crosses Mayhew. He is kind of back there a ways, so you don't see the shop from the street. OK, that being taken care of... I have only had my Vanagon for a couple years. Ralph was highly recommended to me by more than one friend, one of whom is a machinist who specializes in VWs. And half the time I get into conversations about the car with new people who have or have had VWs, Ralph's name comes up! And now I am the one doing the recommending whenever I meet a VW owner. I believe every positive review about Ralph, here on yelp! Don't hesitate. Ralph is the real deal!

There is no import automotive problem that Ralph can not address. He has cared for my 1966 VW Bug for at least 15 years. He knows and understands VW's as few do. He is also a great pinball wizard both player and restorer. I could not be more happier with his services.

If I could I'd give Ralph 6 stars. I completely trust him to do a great job at a reasonable price.

Ralph is our car doctor. We absolutely trust him and he always gives great advice and options. He has saved us money and diagnosed our car problems more correctly than other shops or dealerships.

I absolutely love Ralph! How many mechanics can you say are absolutely trustworthy? I (being a 22 yr old female who knows very little about cars) can say I have been ripped off more than a few times. Not with this guy! I recently purchased a 68 autostick VW beetle. I do not know a ton about these vehicles and I have a friend who suggested another place specializing in bugs. It was over an hour and a half away and I took it there for them to fix my idle problem. They did not, and charged me for other things I did not ask for. They only fixed 1 out of the 3 things I had asked for and I paid $465. After that I was totally put off at the thought of taking my car back to a mechanic and I was thinking about learning to fix it myself. I was at Napa down the road from Ralphs place and was asking them some questions. They recommended Ralph so we called him up and took the car there around 3pm and by 6pm same night he called and said it was ready to be picked up. SAME DAY appointment and pick up!! He was very busy but had time to squeeze my car in. WOW. Now when we went to pick it up he was VERY informative and descriptive of his work. He only charged an hour for a bunch of things I'm almost sure were more than an hour worth of labor. He also pointed out a few things that the other mechanic should have seen and informed me of because they were pretty crucial to the performance of my beetle, and noticed some issues with the previous mechanics work. He let me know the proper way to drive an autostick and how to maintain it. You know you can really trust your mechanic when he explains all of his work in depth and lists things he see's may become problems or things that will need work in the future, while emphasizing the fact that you do not need them done right then and that its up to you to get them done. He does NOT try to rob you of your money. No one else will be laying their hands on my beetle other than Ralph.

Ralph is excellent! This is the only place my business will take our fleet vehicles and most of us leave our personal vehicles in his trusted hands, too! Friendly, knowledgeable, awesome! Also, if you like pinball, you should ask him about his collection! ;)

If you have a VW, you should know Ralph. Ralph is the ONLY mechanic who will ever touch my VWs. Classic Bug to late model GTI, Ralph is the man. Ralph really knows his stuff and always gives it to you straight. In troubleshooting he once replaced a part he later determined didn't need repair; he ONLY charged for the hours/parts that went into to the fix! Plus he's the type of guy you want to go grab a beer with after work.
