My review is prompted by how upper management instructs their "drones" to manage customers. I only shop at store 3509 at 11755 Beechnut St. Houston, Tx. 77072 because it is within a mile of my home. I prefer to check out my own groceries, and have been doing so at this store for the past 10 years. Several times I have had store employees come over and "let me help you" and start grabbing my items and run them over the scanner while I get to watch! (They think I'm slow and helpless bc I'm 73.) Today I filled my basket and went to checkout and a store clerk directed me from self service to one of the two open assisted checkouts. Both with a wait, while several of the self check outs were empty. After waiting in a slow line I decided to go back to self check out and do it as I am accustomed, check my items myself. I had just started scanning my items when the same clerk informed me that this self checkout was for 10 items or less. Funny, I see no signs to this effect. I've used the self checkout for 10 years and never knew this! "It's the store Managers Policy". (she replied) Well needless to say I was not taking NO for an answer today. I completed my checkout of 31 items after asking to see the Manager, Anthony. (who never came) Leaving the dirty work to little girls on the "front". I left the store disgusted with the entire situation and the attitudes I had to contend with trying to reach the "Manager". I called Corporate as well. We will see what happens. And BTW the self checkouts DO NOT have a limit or policy of 10 items. If they're open, Use Them!!! Overall rating of this store with the "Beggars" in front, "Scammers" inside wanting baby formula, the "Grazing" of the inventory, employee attitudes, they are lucky to get 2 stars! Yes I Will drive the extra 6 miles or so to avoid this retail disaster, next time!

I frequently visit this Walmart, as it's conveniently located just 4 to 5 blocks away from my residence. The store's overall setup is clean and well-organized, and I appreciate how they've condensed the size of a traditional Walmart into a neighborhood grocery store. There's even another Walmart located approximately half a mile away, which I refer to as the "actual" Walmart. Here at this local Walmart, I can find most grocery items at competitive prices, although they may not always be the best deals. However, I do appreciate the convenience of shopping here, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. One unique aspect of this store is their heavy utilization of self-checkout lanes. Out of 10 lanes, 8 of them are designated for self-checkout, and it's great to see that most customers know how to operate them efficiently. This helps to minimize wait times and ensures a smooth shopping experience for everyone.

This is my "go-to" grocery store. For a smaller grocery store, the selection is appropriate, and the prices can't be beat. The staff is friendly and helpful.

This lady at auto tire dept name Rhiannon is so rude to me. First he canceled my appointment because she said their tire installer were sick. I asked her why I was canceled. Her respond was have I have been sick before. She will not even said sorry my appointment have been canceled. I feel like I'm doing her a favor for being a customer not a customer giving her job. And she claimed I'm the one who were rude. I think a video on Nov.15 2023 between 1pm to 2 pm on cashier area will show how she treated me.

Customer service needs improvement asap! Good selection of food but staff is very racist all of them! Why have self check out if you are just going to eyeball and stand around me when I am self checking out ! But not assist!!!! This has already happened twice just sad I will not come here again! And will file a complaint with corporate office.

Please explain to me why there were no people working the cash registers. It took me longer to check myself out than to do my actual shopping. Get better please.

I go here all the time. They never have cashiers at the registers. They want you to go to self checkout. That annoys me when I have a lot of groceries to pay for and bag myself. I would like some help with that. When you need something from behind the sliding glass doors and you have to press that button, nobody comes to help. I don't even know what that's for anymore. It's faster to find someone to unlock them. You have to let them know you need help, they will ignore you until you say something. Other then that I can find everything pretty easily and usually everything is neat and tidy for the most part.

What happened to friendly greetings when you go to Walmart?? Guess they did a way with that. Didn't have high expectations and I was right. Went to return something, customer service window said closed so I asked the next Kasher where do I do returns she says right there at customer service window. . So I go back in on one of the credit card swipe boxes. It says press here for assistance. I press it and it says a customer service will be right with you and then shortly after says customer service rep is on the way. Wait five minutes nothing that screen clears. I press it again and says the same thing. Finally somebody in the Walmart uniform walks into the area so I assumed it was her (maybe 5'1" Indian female wearing white wired earbuds - description is on hopes she sees this review - which I doubt) but then she just grabbed a free bottle of water and walked out and I asked, is there someone coming?" and she keeps on walking and just says "no it's closed, it says closed". I get that she probably was on her break but still?? I suppose she's not getting paid enough to bother with a good customer service. So then I go find somebody else on the floor. They tell me the same thing, find yet another third person telling me the same thing when I finally asked to speak to the manager. Manager finally comes, says the same thing to me that customer service window is closed so I asked "can't you return it for me? you are the manager." Then he says something which I cannot understand. He walks to a cash register and does my return. If he was able to do it, why wouldn't he have offered that in the first place instead of telling me customer service window is closed? Just lazy I guess? Boy, I know work ethic of lots of people has gone down and what they say about "good help is hard to find" is true. And you see it in every Walmart that you go to which is I try avoid them. Hope Walmart corporate sees this review and trains people better. It's kind of sad when not one employee cares.

Every since they hired these new people they have been very suspect against Americans blacks and whites I literally seen a handicap white man have a argument with one of the india staff member. I totally agreed with the handicap man that these new people who are majority people from india, I wanted to load my card and a india staff member at customer service said that it is only a$300.00 limit I said no I've been loading my card for years and it had never been a limit. I turn around and drove almost 20 miles to the Livermore Walmart. I went back to the Walmart on Santa Rita rd. in Pleasanton Ca When I went in another white man was arguing again with a person who was india. Yes I jumped in the argument because this same person told me the same thing that it was a limit on loading the Walmart card. The white man said he was gonna call cooperate and I said I was to. In July 0f 2023 The india man sees come into Walmart all the time I go through self check out all the time I know there doing there Job by watching everyone and that's ok with me. he literally walked up to my check lane and watched me scanned every single item I felt harassed and embarrassed because they have never done me like that now the old staff member never did that. One day I seen all the old staff members and I told them what has been happening . They were very understanding one staff member told me all they hire is people from india . Its about 3 white people and 1 or 2 black people the rest are from india. Don't get me wrong I love my brothers and Sisters from india BUT THIS NOT INDIA Stop bring your customs here in America on how to treat people who are law abiding citizens. This is AMERICA so I say stop it I spoke with one other older employee who said they feel like they are privilege. I think I will start going to Safeway because its ethically equal when it comes to its employees. They serve everyone with respect!

Huge variety of food and household and you can find all grocery that you need. Loved the way it is organized so you can see and take what you need easily.
