West America, worst... bank... ever! RUN AWAY!! Customer service always talks down to you like they are doing you a favor, just horrible. I went online, like always do to make sure my direct deposit went through. I was looking at a zero balance, wait, what? My account was closed with no notice; how about a letter, phone call, text or email? They claimed it was a computer error and snipely told me to call about the direct deposit that it was not their problem but yet they caused said problem. Not to mention I had been banking with them for 20 years and the fees are just horrendous. Also would like to add I found out about this yesterday when I was at the store picking up Thanksgiving dinner but my card was declined and hence no dinner for today, way to go Westamerica! Thank you so much, you guys just suck big time!

Terrible banking experience. Today I finally had it with this bank. They charge a service fee of $4.00 per month if you don't have 5 transactions a month. Punishing you for not using your account? Unheard of. I am power of attorney for my Mother, but have a card in my name, and they give me shit constantly. Today, they refused to access the account with my Mom's social. Said they could only do it with mine. My social is not on the account. Beyond today's shitty experience - I called them because they mistakenly posted my deposit in someone else's account - their ATM machines are in the dark ages, their bank hours are never open when its convenient and they constantly freeze my card for purchases over $100. Its crazy. I've never done a Yelp post before - but my dissatisfaction is high on this one. I'm changing banks next week even though it will take me hours to re-arrange all our auto deductions and auto deposits.

These people are SUPER friendly! I never have to wait and and and they will let you in to make a deposit even after 4:00pm when they close. I have been late getting there on several occassions, and they open the door with a smile and get me in and out of there! The Managers and the Staff are all friendly and helpful! Bank here!
