SUCH A FUN & COOL EXPERIENCE! Casey was our hostess for the day and she was an absolute delight! She is SO knowledgeable about the area and gave such great information in an easy-going and fun way! She really embodies the easy-going coastal vibes and gave us the quintessential-cali day of eating al fresco and learning about the very special way food and produce is treated in Point Reyes. The bonus is that all the food and mead we tried was simply the best. I would 10/10 recommend

Casey was our tour guide for our extended family group of five. She was incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of our trip and explained things in a way that was so relatable and fun. The oysters were amazing and clam chowder was the best we’ve ever had. Such a beautiful day and experience. Highly recommend. Thanks, Casey!

We did the Tomales Bay Oyster Lover's Tour. Our guide was very friendly and shared some interesting information with us throughout the day. I was especially interested to learn how the local geology impacted the history of food production in the area. The tour started with a cheese board in a cool cabin at the end of a pier on the water, and was followed by trips to three popular restaurants along that part of the bay where our guide ordered us oysters. We were a bit disappointed that the person at one of the restaurants who apparently sometimes gives more of a "behind the scenes" experience wasn't there that day, so this was more about trying the oysters than experiencing the process they go through before they hit the table. Our favorite were the Salazar oysters! When we let the owner know we were disappointed to not get more of a behind the scenes experience, we were impressed that she took our concerns seriously and was proactive in responding, making sure we walked away satisfied with our experience.

We've taken a couple of different tours with Food and Farms. Alex seems to know all the cool and secret food spots in Marin and Sonoma, is a wealth of foodie info, and a pleasure to be around, to boot. Highly recommended!Services: Private tours

Our group of 4 did the Flavors of Point Reyes tour with Alex. I was initially worried that places might still be closed since shelter in place had just ended a week or two before but it actually turned out to be an amazing time. And we were so full by the end of it (hold off on eating breakfast the day of). We enjoyed very beautiful sunny weather–and didn't even need our jackets even though it was beginning of February.Alex is super fun and engaging. I've already recommended a few people their tours. It's so worth the experience and you eat quality local food while learning about it's history and source.

We did a custom trip that was unforgettable! The food and wine blew our minds, but it is Alex's passion for all these beautiful gifts that West Marin has to offer that really makes these tours so special. She knows her stuff, and you can tell how much she loves sharing it with others. Such a special day. We cannot wait to do another one. DON'T MISS THIS!Services: Private tours

We did their food tour on the July 3rd. Because we love this area and want to learn more about what nature offers here. One of the perks of the tour was that it allows you to enter some super popular restaurants without much wait and with a super nice table. Also they can order delicious food (or drinks for tasting) for you at each place. The stories of different food entrepreneurs were inspiring.I wish the farm visit at the end was more in-depth (can give us more understanding of the farming practice in west marin). Otherwise it was wonderful!

We recently had a private small group tour with Food and Farms tours and couldn’t have wished for anything better! We had had our five year old and Grandma with us so a range of ages and it was great for everyone. The baby lambs were a dream come true and we got so many snuggles in. The entire event felt very ‘covid safe’ as was outdoors, everyone had masks on and safely packaged/presented food (which was delicious!) which was very important to us. After living so close by in Marin for decades its hard to believe these amazing small farms are so close by and learning about the way they produce the cheeses we all love to enjoy was interesting and exciting. Our tour host was really nice and accommodating and thoughtful in planning to make it the best tour for our specific group it felt like. We can’t wait to plan another tour and see more of what the region has to offer- Would highly recommend!Service: Private tours

Our family took the "Flavors of West Marin" tour with Alex and had a wonderful time. Alex is such a warm and friendly person with a wealth of knowledge about the sustainable food industry and local business practices. Our tour began at Cowgirl Creamery where we had an excellent assortment of pastries from local bakeries and local cheeses. We learned quite a bit about different types of cheese and how they're made. We visited Hog Island Oyster company and enjoyed fresh and barbecued oysters while learning about how oysters reproduce and are harvested. We then stopped off at The Marshall Store for lunch. The food was outstanding and abundant and the scenery looking out on Tomales Bay was breathtaking. We then visited the Heidrun Meadery (another stop with a breathtaking view and setting) and learned about bee keeping and how meade is produced from honey. And we enjoyed sampling a nice variety of meade wines. Our last stop was Little Wing Farm where we learned about organic, sustainable farming and saw a nice variety of vegetables and beautiful flowers. One of the highlights was visiting the expansive quail pen, watching the quails freely roam around and seeing how they spray a dye on their eggs to help camouflage them. This tour was a treat for our eyes and stomaches and filled our heads with fascinating information. It was a day so well spent and truly memorable for our family.

Food and farm tours was a fabulous way to get an inside look at some of my favorite places in west Marin. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and you could tell she really cared about the local history and the amazing food that’s being produced there. Would highly recommend it to anyone, we had a blast!! (Bonus they drive you in their van so you get to sit back and enjoy the views!)
