I'm very satisfied with the doctor I've worked with. (over a decade ago, had the wrong flea and tick medicine for my cat. He was allergic to flea eggs) needed Advantage instead of a bunch of allergy tests.??Just ask. Great doctors. They later had to put my cat down and they did a very gentle euthanization and helped me through the process and my cat left ? peacefully. He lived 17 Great years. Smoke from the fires in 2018. Got to him. Sadly. But we are both at peace. Dogs got and are getting great help as well. ?

Thorough and caring. We've brought many cats and dogs here over the years. Most recently we brought a foster dog in extremely poor condition to them with some puzzling and frightening symptoms. In a week he was sorted with their help, and went on to a wonderful adoption. Pt. Reyes Animal hospital was just great.

Every staff member I dealt with was friendly & professional. They squeezed me in the same day on two different occasions & saw my dog right away when we arrived. I am thrilled to have this practice nearby!

The best. Their vet gives you the whole picture, and choices when available. Their staff is caring and competent and their fees are fair. Good job!

Mary is an amazing human, who really cares about my pets. Being the only Vet in the area makes them very busy. Mary always takes the time to bring the animals out to the car ,and explains everything that needs to be done and why.She always greets me with a smile and keeps my animals happy and healthy.

Took my cat, Lulu, to get some urgently needed blood tests, a follow up to similar tests done by my usual vet in Oakland because I didn't think it was reasonable to wait until I was back in Oakland. Dr. Whitney understandably wanted to know a bit more about what was going on before doing the testing, especially since Lulu usually has required sedation to have blood draws. In fact Dr. W took plenty of time getting all the history of the current issue plus requesting prior history to better care for Lulu. When the time came, she was able to draw the blood without any sedation, a real bonus for Lulu and for me. My interaction with her over some complex problems was excellent. She clearly cares about animals, is a skilled communicator as well as technically proficient. Highly recommend.

I am new in the area and called this vet to get a price quote and make an appointment for an annual exam with a heartworm/tick test and some annual booster vaccines for my two senior dogs. Pretty standard request.I have called twice now asking for this information and both times was told i would get a call back with the information in a half hour. No call back. Either time. The calls where placed about a week apart. Why do you even need to call me back? Why cant you just tell me what an exam costs over the phone right away?? This poor service before Im even in the door makes me skeptical of the care they'll provide for my dogs. I will be taking my animals elsewhere, even if I have to drive an hour to a reputable veterinarian.

I was so disappointed, I was referred to Mary Whitney from a friend that said she was reasonably priced. She never gave me an estimate until the day of the cleaning and i drove away. She gave me an estimate of $2,000 to clean my Shih Tzu's teeth. I was shocked. I had an estimate of $1,400 in Marin that i thought was too expensive. when i called to complain, Mary said that her assistant had to pad the estimate until she knew what she was dealing with. I thought she knew when i took my dog to her for the initial visit. I was disgusted with how she handled it. I also had to ask for a written treatment plan which i could not read because it was hand written. I should have gone to the initial vet in Marin.

Dr Mary Whitney and Point Reyes Animal Hospital are kind, caring, and have always been there for my pets when I needed them. I am from Minnesota, but visit Point Reyes often to see friends, and we always bring our dogs. I was recently in a panic because my old lab hurt her toe and wouldn't put weight on it, and Dr Whitney got me right in for xrays. Thankfully my dog was fine and we are both relieved! Dr Whitney is a thoughtful, thorough, and very professional vet. She truly cares and it shows.
