Safeway located at 6498 Pony Express Trail in Pollock Pines, CA, is a neighborhood grocery store that offers a variety of food and household items. The store features a friendly and helpful staff, making shopping a pleasant experience for many customers. The produce section is consistently praised for its freshness and quality, with customers enjoying the fruit and vegetables. The bakery provides birthday cakes, custom cakes, cupcakes, and other baked goods, with the Order Ahead service allowing customers to pick up their orders ready to go. The deli offers party trays and platters, and the butcher block has a selection of meats, seafood, and even sushi trays. The grocery store also caters to special dietary needs, offering a good selection of gluten-free items, especially appreciated by families with Celiac members. Customers appreciate the clean and well-lit environment, ample parking, and reasonable prices considering the current economy. However, some reviews mention issues such as moldy fruit, meat with high fat content, and vegetables that spoil quickly, which affect their overall satisfaction. There are concerns about declining quality, inconsistent bakery items, and stock shortages, leading some longtime shoppers to feel disappointed and consider shopping elsewhere. Despite these concerns, the staff's friendliness and effort are recognized and valued. Overall, Safeway is seen as a local store with a wide range of products and a commitment to serving the community, though improvements are hoped for in product quality and availability.
The store is always clean and organized. Staff is always happy when they greet you even making sure youre finding what you need. Prices are somewhat low, decent deals and offers daily. I love shopping at Safeway!

Went in looking for Corned Beef after St Patrick's Day. None were out but the butcher kindly gave me the last one he had set aside for himself. I wish I was a better person, but I took it. I have no willpower when it comes to Corned Beef So thank you Safeway Butcher, It did not go to waste.
