Recently bought a second home in Pollock Pines which has needed a few repairs. I have visited this store numerous times. The staff is super friendly and always helpful. Though small compared to the big Box hardware stores, this store carries a great supply of essentials. I’m really happy this store is here in Pollock Pines.

Customer service sucks , mostly older , very political and opinionated workers . Owners clearly have a roster , only females are allowed to work in the front and males in the back . At this point I Will just spend the gas and money to go to placerville .This place is consistently giving off bad vibes making me ( and other customers ) feel like a criminal as they follow you
around the store ! Hasn’t been the same since Colleen was there . The owners really need to fix something !

Poor customer service here. We recently purchased 12 bags of concrete from the store and they were loaded on the vehicle by attendant that was very helpful.
We over bought and returned 2 bags. The store owner who was on duty and unloaded one bag and we attempted to unload the other bag. The bag ripped open making a mess and rather than being reasonable and cordial, the owner says he can’t refund us.
The owner has a lot to learn about customer service. We won’t shop here any longer.

I lived in the area for about five years and I’ve done quite a few little projects here and there and these guys are super helpful and much more convenient than driving down the hill every time I need something.

Small businesses just are not like they used to be. I will spend the gas to go to Placerville Home Depot or my favorite Churchill Hardware in Cameron Park.
I was returning an item WITH the receipt AND buying the correct item I needed. I was being charged a 20% restocking fee on a total of $17 purchase PLUS the new items I needed were $3.57 less so they owed me money but because I didn’t have the card I purchased with they would NOT return it. Now ordering from Amazon. This is why small businesses go under, NO Customer Service!!!!

I understand there is a theft problem in California, but they treat every customer as if they are a thief. My wife and I went in for some spray paint. They asked if we needed help finding anything as soon as we walked in. We have lived up here for 6 years, and go there from time to time if it's an emergency. I know what isle the paint is in so we said "no thanks". He seemed bothered by that and proceeded to follow us and stand behind us watching our every move. It was very uncomfortable to the point that my wife even pointed it out to me. I noticed another couple walk in and he had to go away from us for a second to go ask them if they needed help finding anything. They also said "no thank you" . He then was going from one isle to the next to keep an eye on both couples. My wife wanted to look at paint samples after we got the spray paint and I was going to grab some Grinding discs . Now he was running between three isles trying to watch the other couple as well as my wife and I. Another employee came over to relieve him so he could go stand behind the other couple. It was very uncomfortable, and I've noticed the same behavior on prior visits. I get that there are some tweakers in PP but to treat every customer that walks in the door, as if they are going to steal from your business is just bad buisness. With the new Harbor Freight that just opened down the hill, I think they should be a little more welcoming to the customers that are willing to pay their high prices. We want to support our local businesses, but not if they are going to be such weirdos. It's actually kind of creepy to have the employee watching your every move with a fake smile . I think this will be our last visit to this establishment. It's just a shame that they want to push away one of the few people that are still willing to pay more for convenience.

Great store, great people.A note thoA person's integrity is very important, if I return an item that is of poor quality, it's not because I damaged it, it's because it's poor quality.I'm straight up.

I like keeping money in my community so I try to shop locally. Friendly staff, very helpful right when you walk in the door. No waiting on big box store staff to help and the hardware store always has what I need.
