Ridiculous visiting policy. It's already 2023. There are many COVID treatments and vaccines available. Let people see their loved ones. Especially if they are already old and have many preexisting conditions. It may be the last time they see them.

My husband had a Seizure today at Casa Colina where he is doing his PT, OT, ST, because he had a stroke in Nov 2022. He was transported by RA to Pomona Valley ER. He had a second Seizure while here . It took them 1:40 to let me come in and see him (I got to the hospital just as he got here.)The Dr Nauc (short for his real name) came to look at my husband and told the nurse "get his CT scan quickly) the Dr. never introduced himself. I said hey doc, he didn't acknowledge me just left. I told the nurse WTHell and he said "he has 30 patients" ok!!!!Not to mention, the nurses said he had to have bloodwork before the CT scan, (that's not what the doctor said) so 30 minutes later, I ask his nurse if that was true, because the phlebotomist came and went. My husband's nurse said "oh I didn't hear that, Let me check," then came back and said no that is not true. We're just waiting for CT to come down, WTHell. We wait 3 hours for a CT scan, I keep asking, finally some lady comes in and starts unhooking my husband, I called out to his nurse and pointed to the woman, and he says "ooh, that's the Boss of CT" she never said who she was, just started to unhook him. What's is wrong with these people, WTHell!!!!!I get short staff, I get busy, but when your LOVED one is in the ER, thinks he might die AND is not being attended to AND there is no communication with the patient or family that's a problem ( I get they gave him meds to stop the Seizure but it's not enough,) We want to know why???!!!!!!I say F for communication!!!!!!!'

This is the worse hospital of all time I don't know how they're still open. If I could give no stars, I would they're so awful. I had a janitor try to fight me once. I literally just left there and I sat there for two hours, they didn't take any vitals whatsoever and I'm in so much pain. I don't know if it's racism there or what but they had all of the Black people sit in the tent and let all the "other" people inside. The people in the tent sat out there for so long, if I didn't get up and keep asking questions they would've never said anything to me but they still didn't do anything. So I ended up leaving and coming to urgent care Across the street.

Iv been to this hospital off and on since 2007 so it's about time I do a review, I gave birth to my son here in 2018 it wasn't the best experience because of the doctor I seen the day after I gave birth now let me explain. The next day after giving birth Dr.pinto came to see me at that time my husband and mother left to get food and put the crib together cause our son was born at 35 weeks we hadn't put it together yet, when the doctor saw me I was by myself he left and hours later CPS worker came to my room and I was wondering why she said someone said you was overwhelmed and was saying you don't know how you are going to take care of your baby. What!!!! I said look me and my husband had been trying for a baby for 10 years!!!!!! Our son is are miracle child I don't know who lied to you, she apologized and said I can see that you are doing just fine and left. My mother and husband was furious and we couldn't wait to leave this hospital, in 2020 I got lucky that my dr was contracted with San Antonio hospital so I gave birth there to my twin girls but had to come back here to give birth Dec 2021 to have my daughter which I was dreading and didn't want stay at this hospital that long but we stayed 5 days do to my daughter having breathing problems and jaundice. The reason why I am giving this hospital 3 Stars is because of the NICU nurses I would give them nurses 5 STARS they go beyond for your baby and make you feel comfortable and I am truly thankful to the nurses that helped my babygirl. So here is the run down I love the nurses here in the maternity ward and in the ER, I also like the doctors in the ER and the doctors that delivered my children. But not the doctor I seen after I had my son (Dr.Pinto) he can go to hell

I understand that hospitals are under pressure and very busy. But the issues we experienced here were just unacceptable and unethical. My father was here for two weeks and a half weeks. He had convulsions, and then experienced dementia-like symptoms so was kept for observation while they tried to solve what was causing it. At one point, they asked us to give consent for a surgery for "internal bleeding". My father did not have any internal bleeding at any point during his stay. After arguing with the doctor for 15 minutes trying to prove that he didn't have internal bleeding, the doctor realized they had marked the internal bleeding on the wrong chart! On top of that, he then said "thank you for sticking to it" and "thats why family being involved is important". This is a hospital, they should have stuck to it! Thankfully we asked the questions before they did the procedure, but who knows how the actual patient with internal bleeding is doing. After my father developed a fever two weeks in, they ran a test for infection and found a staph infection that explained all of his symptoms from the start! They then told us that a staph infection test was ordered when he admitted after the ambulance, but they forgot to do it! He could have been out of the hospital in 3 days with antibiotics, and instead was kept there for two and a half weeks because they forgot to run one of the most basic tests. Absolute rubbish of a hospital. The nurses were amazing, but the case workers and doctors should have to go back to school.

Premature Discharge although it's illegal Pomona Valley Hospital has been pushing to discharge a close relative we have expressed our concern and not ones did they provide us with informational to the patient advocacy team until yesterday when a security guard offered it to us. Pomona Valley hospital pressure doctors to arrange quick discharges for patients who's medical coverage isn't the best they do not offer fair healthcare for all. As of right now we have tried to reach the patient relations department to get the voice mail and no call back. The nurse specifically one nurse Scarlet on the 6th floor lacks compassion and professionalism. As she told the patient she would be discharged and the patient expressed her concerns of why she could NOT be released prematurely she responded with you have 3 family members here choose one to care for you. She was so unkind and rude even when we all explained there's no one to care for her at home and she's so injured and has had multiple surgeries. She's got so many limitations and the hospital just wants to dump her. Anyone have any advice on how to deal with unfair treatment and premature discharge and how to appeal we can't get the hospital to provide us the info or help with this matter.

Today one of the saddest days !!!!!!I don't know much about this hospital, but I've been coming here to ICU because my good friend/ partner in crime has been here since Sunday , due to illness. I was surprised that I was able to walk in to ICU, however on Friday night I checked in, and walked all the way to ICU, just to hear that 4 hours earlier he had passed away... Yes, I broke down and doctors and nurses just said sorry and stood there staring at me while I couldn't stay on my two feet, his body laid in the room and covered by the curtain. I wish they had told me as I checked in, just to prevent that entire scenario. RIP, Love you and will forever miss you such a dear friend/ brother/partner in crime/ a beautiful human with a heart of gold.I'm so heart broken, by you leaving those that loved you.EOW

I'm writing this review on behalf of my mother, who does not have Yelp, but asked me to share her experience in a review because her experience with Pomona Valley Hospital was so impactful to her. This week, my maternal grandmother spent her final 3 days on Earth in Pomona Valley Hospital. She had Alzheimer's and was brought into this hospital by ambulance after the residential treatment home she was in found her unresponsive. My mom was at her mother's bedside in this hospital during visiting hours for 3 days, and saw firsthand how kind everyone was, from the security guard who stopped what he was doing to walk her partially down to ICU and give detailed directions for the rest of the way when my parents were confused and lost upon their initial arrival, to the daily care that Martin, an RN on duty, showed both my still-feisty grandmother and my frazzled mother. My grandmother was physically strong (life-long athlete) and resistant to the medical and monitoring equipment, and she was restless as she was throughout her Alzheimer's diagnosis, when she wouldn't sleep for long periods, but would only cat-nap for 10, 15 minutes at a time. Seeing this, Martin repositioned his work station and spent his work shifts within immediate sight of grandma so that he could get up and calm her or stop her from messing with her equipment/IV/oxygen. When he saw my grandmother couldn't eat the hospital's meals, he fetched beverages, milk, etc. to give my mom so that mom could get grandma to drink something that would fill her stomach. Martin noted a word my grandmother had said to him, "Arigato," and asked what that meant. My mom explained it's Japanese for "thank you," and he started using it back to my grandmother so that they could communicate a little. It was Martin who was there on my grandmother's final day patiently explaining to my parents what the procedures are as my grandmother approached her last breath, explained what was happening, what the doctors would do. And it was Martin who surprised my mother by bringing out a printout of my grandmother's last heartbeats on EKG, rolled up in a glass bottle, so that my mom could take home a piece of something tangible that showed that they were with each other until the very end. My parents were also presented with a sympathy card signed by all the staff and doctors on duty, which my parents were very touched by. My mother had been so moved by Martin's sensitivity, patience, and care, and when she tried to convey the depth of her gratitude of how well he treated my grandmother and my parents, Martin insisted that this was his job and that he was grateful to HER (my mom) for showing up daily and helping him communicate and care for my grandmother. My mom also mentioned a helpful assistant named Carmen, who was kind to my parents and grandmother and another nurse named Shannon, who also impressed my mother with her patience and kindness, as well as gentleness in helping my grandmother even as my grandmother went through a difficult, resistant, feisty afternoon, grabbing at and striking Shannon as Shannon gently handled her. Together, my mom and Shannon spent 2 hours handling my grandmother's "fighting" and trying to rip off equipment, while Shannon never lost her composure, compassion, and patience. Both Carmen and Shannon spent significant time speaking with and comforting my mom. My mom very much appreciated the competence, compassion, and efforts to relate to both a patient and a patient's family by every single employee in this hospital that my mother came across in this most difficult of times for her. All of the staff my parents encountered were communicative, relatable, patient, and kind in their dealings with my parents and grandma despite the language barrier, which my parents are so impressed and grateful about.

This place is complete garbage! They do not care about patients at all! Go to San Dimas ER where they will see you before you die at least!

11 weeks pregnant L&D didn't do anything because I'm under 20 weeks... even though I'm bleeding nothing was done. Sent me to ER only to have waited an additional 3 hrs plus and still waiting for ultrasound to advise me outcome of my baby... possible miscarriage is NOT A PRIORITY here... very sad with how the staff does not communicate within eachother
