“This is my favorite mechanic. I have been going to them for almost 10 years. I recommend them to everyone. They have been cheaper than other places I looked into but I feel like they always do great work. And I trust them more than any other mechanic I've ever had. I feel like they have my best interest at heart. One time I had my brakes need repair far sooner than expected. The dealership did not want to honor the warranty and were asking me to pay for the repair because of "wear and tear". So I brought my car to M&R (because I would rather pay them). And they told me to fight my dealership about the warranty. Instead of just taking the job, they gave me information about my brakes and ultimately I got the dealership to replace my brakes for free with M&R's encouragement.”

“My family brought our cars here when we lived in the Bay, and after a few years living in another state, I moved back and brought my car in for a regular service. Justin remembered my family after all those years and took great care of the car.A few weeks later I kept hearing a rattle when I was driving, so I took the car in and they checked it out - even getting a mechanic to ride with me on the highway to make sure they were hearing the same sound. Turns out living in a snowy place makes your car rust and rattle! Everything was resolved quickly and with great communication. Justin also called a lyft for me when I had to leave my car for an extended service, just highlighting how great this place is and how well they take care of their customers.They always send a report of what they've found and discuss next steps and what they recommend verus what you can save until the next visit. “My 2018 Mazda cx-5 battery was showing signs of wearing down (had to jump start once.) After my car warranty was over, I did not see any benefit in going to dealership and getting fleeced with exorbitant charges. Instead I went to Independence Car Service based on recommendation from a friend who has been going there for the past 15 years. I was not disappointed.They were very honest and transparent in their communication from the very beginning. I've seen other services recommending thousands of dollars of repairs after an inspection. The battery replacement was taken care of without any fuss. I also asked for a Tire rotation service and they let me know that I can do that for free at America's Tire since I bought my tires from them. I was pleasantly surprised at such honesty. I know where I am going for any car repairs from now on.”

“I would recommend Carl 6/5 stars if Yelp allowed me to. Carl is a no nonsense, friendly mechanic, who is honest, passionate, and knowledge in everything about cars. My first service here was for an alignment after America's tire directed me here. Carl did an inspection for free of charge along with my alignment when I raised some issues with the vehicle. He gave me a straightforward answers and recommendations on what could be done, and even what he would skip or do if needed. It was great experience and value, considering another highly reviewed auto shop in the area wanted $210 only for the inspection before any work is done. The second service, I had Carl work on my 2013 rav4 AWD. He got my car road worthy within the day, gave me update son everything and anything that would need to be serviced, and only checked that things I was majorly concerned about. He never once tried to upsell me or cause any sort of safety fear in order to get me to do a service. Today, which is why I decided to write this review, Carl saved me $1100 dollars that I would've spent at Wheels Works for "supposed" warped rotors, which I had mentioned to the front desk. When I called Carl for a second opinion and quote, he immediately knew Wheel Works was attempting to upsell me on brake services because: 1. He had just inspected my car the week beforehand and serviced it. 2. He asked why they didn't mentioned which rotors were warped instead of giving me blanket answers and immediately wanted the work signed off on. 3. Told me that if the rotors were, in fact, warped, he would work on them for $450 per axle that was needed, and using original manufacturer parts only.”

“Besides the average wonderful repair service, these folks provide, they have bailed us out of so many situations. Recently, we purchased a car for our daughter and had to have it shipped out of state. We paid to have a trucking company pick the car up. The brakes were gone. Mike and his crew rallied, they found a new master cylinder and had the car repaired by noon. This saved us hundreds of dollars in cancellation fees. But honestly, this is just one of many many stories. We have five cars and an RV and there’s nothing that they can’t repair. Salt of the Earth people! We love them, and we miss them. We had to move away. ”
