We recently wrapped up a nearly 20 year relationship with Ackley, going back to when they were North Park Storage. After my parents passed away, North Park Storage moved a number of household items and keepsakes, including an antique piano, into storage. They took extremely good care of everything this whole time. When it was getting close to time take everything back out of storage, they arranged for us to go through everything on site so we could strategize what we wanted to do with all of these things we hadn't seen in nearly two decades. Arranging the delivery to our home was easy and professional and everything arrived in great shape. The costs associated with the moving and storage were very reasonable. I would definitely use Ackley if I ever need these services again.

As a military family, we've pcsd 10x, and this has been the first bad experience with movers. The gentleman that did my Zoom walk through viewing the house said the house was clean and very organized, so it should be an easy packout for the movers.
First off, communication was lacking for the pack day and the load day. While the government gives the 8am-5pm window, a representative from the company texted me with an arrival window of 8am-11am for pack day. 12:00pm. came around, and I figured maybe they're running late due to lunch, so I gave grace. Again, no one called, though, so I called them. The lady who answered was very rude when I asked her for an update. She let me know as soon as she answered I was unconvincing her. Then she let me know they'd arrive between 12-2pm. Well, it would have been nice to know since school is in session and I have two school-age children too. I will say the team did come in and do the packout within 3 hours, which I was happy about.
However, on the receiving end, that's when the real nightmare begins with the unpacking. We have never had damaged items, so I guess we've been very fortunate in the past. As we've been unpacking, there's hardware missing for beds, the entertainment center, and other furniture. Our bookshelf that should have just been wrapped in plastic was ripped apart. Yes, it was ripped apart, like whichever mover took it apart, just yanked the pieces apart. ( Please see picture) My daughters wood dollhouse has been through a move from Washington state to Hawaii and then to California. Only leaving California has it been destroyed, which is crazy since all the other times it didn't get damaged. There was more damaged furniture, too.
Next, unpacking boxes has been a chore. Usually, it would take us two days at the least, but this time, it's taking us more than a week. They told me before we started that they want to be sure items are grouped together. Well, boxes were a mess and had anything and everything in them with no like items. To top it off, the boxes were labeled so wrong. For example; a box was labeled baskets but had stuff animals in it. They were labeled jars but had pot lids, pictures, and other items in it. I really, with they, would have left the boxes packed as I had them prior to their arrival.
We're still searching for stuff that were in certain bedrooms, and instead of being put in the specific bedroom box, they were in random boxes mislabeled.

10/10, would move with them again.
Yesterday, I had to do a military move out of a 3 bed/2.5 bath with garage in San Diego. I'm moving FULL to the other side of the country, and wanted to ensure every single thing got sent, obviously minus restrictions. The pack out crew was so friendly, efficient, and although it took a full workday to get it all out, they were moving as fast as humanly possible, while caring for my items and my walls. I honestly felt bad I couldn't offer anything more than this review, but I could not have been happier with the service they provided! Shout out and BZ to Ike Calix, Edgar Diaz, Alex Torres, and Dominick King for ensuring my anxieties about moving so much stuff were settled. 10/10, would move with them again.

Ackley was the company assigned to handle our final pack out and loading of our final military move. We have moved 13 times in 30 years so we have plenty of experience dealing with movers. The pack out went fine, most of our stuff was already packed because we had to stage our house when we listed it for sale. The crew that loaded the truck was horrible. Our house had a long driveway that went up a hill so the driver could not back his rig up to the house. He had to go get a U-Haul so the crew could take our stuff down to the truck. We were up at the house so we had no idea how they were loading our belongings. When the truck arrived in FL and they opened the doors the driver and delivery crew were horrified with how they loaded and packed the truck. Wardrobe boxes were crushed, totes broken, furniture broken. They had used our king size Sleep Number mattress as packing material in the truck. They wrapped it around a 4’ tall metal dinosaur statue and the tail punctured and tore a hole in our $5k mattress. My husband had built 2 custom arcade machines and the cabinets were gouged and broken. They broke the door off his metal tool chest. We submitted a $20k claim for all the damages and just got work that the TSP wants to send an inspection team to look at everything. Fortunately the delivery driver took a bunch of pictures and filed paperwork regarding what he saw (we also have our own photos). This was by far the worst moving company we were ever assigned. So if you are doing a PCS move put this company down as someone you don’t want.

We are shocked at how disjointed our moving experience has been with this company. The parts to our furniture pieces that should have been carefully stored to ensure properly installation at the new location were hidden in mismatched boxes leading to a frantic scavenger hunt. Couches and bed frames not put together correctly, missing items that seemingly went unaccounted for, after a sloppy pack out from the start. The movers tried to insist that several items on the truck were ours when they definitely belonged to other individuals-leading us to wonder what items of ours were mismanaged. The movers did not stick to timelines on the front end, arriving late in the evening before our day of travel, creating undue stress. Totally unacceptable experience for our military family, definitely avoid if possible.

We did a local move from San Diego to El Cajon. I did most of my own packing but had the company pack my kitchen. I ended up with 1 broken item (it was not a significant piece) and everything else was absolutely fine. The 3 man crew (Ike, Nico and Edgar) were very polite and professional. They asked questions along the way and moved everything into our new house just as directed. I have no hesitation is recommending Ackley Moving Services, they are great

I recently worked with Maldonado's Crew at Ackley Moving Services for our family's move and was thoroughly impressed. We were grateful for the crew's professionalism, attention to detail, and exceptional organization from start to finish.
Their way of packing was very detailed and careful, from fragile glassware to furniture. Everything was handled with care and precision, guaranteeing safe transport to our new home (to a different state). They went over every detail with us at the end, making sure nothing is overlooked or left behind.
The teamwork of the crew was amazing. The team members effectively communicated to make sure they packed and moved everything in the right manner. We highly recommend Maldonado's Crew for their service, and we'll definitely be reaching out to them for our next move!

The Maldonado crew were incredibly efficient! They were great to work with and were in and out of here pretty fast. They were also super helpful and understanding when I accidentally had them pack items I needed. As a military family, we've moved a bit and these guys were hands down the best packers we've had. I'm looking forward to the same level of service from the movers.

This was our fourth military move and by far the best thanks to Ackley. ZERO items were broken or damaged. (This due in part to good packing, but also thanks to care with loading and unloading). And even more unbelievably our household goods beat us to our final destination. (Arrived within 72 hours from San Diego to Texas). Unheard of! They were also courteous and professional. It helps with folks are friendly and willing to go the extra step.

I have never experienced such an unprofessional moving company in 14 years of Naval Service and transfers along with it. It is a complete disgrace that they claim to care at all about service members when they damage our things, don't take responsibility for their actions and don't even re-assemble the furniture correctly. They destroyed a 60" tv as well as damaging a $3000.00 trek e-bike and will not take responsibility of anything. At this point I will have to seek their state attorney generals consumer protection division. I will include details about how high their crew members were and how our king bed was assembled with 1/8th of the hardware, the rest of which is missing. Our couch is actually just sitting together, not even connected. I don't even want them in our house because I cannot trust them. Really terrible company, do yourself a favor and put them on your DPS list of no-no's.-Ryan Cornell
