Please note this is not about the optometrist. He is actually pretty good.I have been getting my glasses and contact lenses almost exclusively from Costco for 35 years now, (except one pair in 2006) and they are pretty good if you have a simple prescription. But now that I am older and need "tri-focals" and can no longer wear contacts. I have basically a distance, an computer and a reading prescription, so they had me get the continuous lenses (sometimes called progressive) but while the distance is good, it seems they used the wrong prescription for the lower part because the middle is too strong, and the bottom part works like my "middle prescription" I have been back three times now to talk about it, and they refuse to do anything about correcting the lenses. First time, they told me that I don't understand. Second time after I figured it out, they tell me, well they aren't truly continuous you need to search for the middle portion, so I found it, I can see three distinct zoned, so I go back next day, and they next person tells me, no, you are wrong they are blended. Discrete spots, blended. Anyway, no-one wants to go on the computer and look at my three prescriptions, figure out which two went on my glasses. I would happy if they told me what was on my glasses, and I could talk to the optometrist next door. So, it has been about a month, and it is obvious no one wants to help so I say, well I want refund, because if all these things (blah blah blah) that you are saying are true then they are worthless to me. Nope, no refund, I have to talk to the manager who won't be in until Monday. At this point I will eat it, because once you talk to the manager, rumor is that Costco will not re-up your membership. I don't know if these eyeglass people are affiliated with Costco or not, but it seems pretty poor on their part not to do anything to try to help me with the glasses, or give me a refund if they don't want to try.So, if you prescription is a bit more complex, I would definitely recommend going to a real ophthalmology "glasses" store instead of here, because they will guarantee their work. This place is just good for basic prescriptions, and adjusting glasses.

Tried setting an appointment for WEEKS, tons of phone tag with nobody getting me an appointment. Tried to just walk in today since their phones obviously don't work. No appts for 3 more days. That's very helpful, not sure how anyone gets an appointment here but good for them.

Optical department in Costco Poway- just want to say thank you to Linda. She been more than helpful and she want behind her duties to make us happy and comfortable. We pitched four glasses. Each one was little different and insurance could not be pulled up in system so she want thorough phone calls and details to make it happen. She truly cares. She tested each glasses mutual times due to my husband vision and he had fish tank effect in prior glass purchases. Many thanks and we will be back ?

About the eye exams only: Pricey, and the doctor was on auto-pilot. He was masked, of course, and spoke quite softly. (Even the staff at the desk chuckled about this. I didn't). I asked him to speak more loudly, which he did for about 30 seconds then sunk back to inaudible. His accent made things even more difficult. In addition, he really was on auto-pilot, probably after having said similar things to hundred of previous patients. I think he might have said a number of important things about the eye exam, but I couldn't make out what he was saying. I figured I'd just read it in his report on the eye exam, but all I received was a printout of my prescription, nothing about the results of the exam. I would not go back there for an exam. Too much money, too little information.

I i’ve been wearing glasses for about 20 years now and I’ve been scared variety of places to get my glasses. I work with Cameron here to help me with my new glasses, and he was fantastic! I believe he is the manager of the optical department there, and if not, he should be. He was super patient, very knowledgeable, and was patient beyond belief! All of that, plus incredible pricing and a huge selection of frames. I highly recommend this place!

Good experience at Costco Vision Center at Scripps. Scheduling is easy, on time, courteous, and well received.

I purchased a pair of glasses in march of 2016 from costco in poway with transition lenses. I only wore them twice and they did not fit properly. One of the times I wore them was riding in a car with a friend who also transition lenses. His lenses were actually dark like sunglasses but mine were not. The frames immediately broke in right in two at the bridge as I was attempting to improve the poor fit. I tried to return them at the service desk but they would not accept them and sent me to the optical counter. At the optical counter they would not take them back either and actually wanted me to buy the frames again. Inferior quality with by-passing costco's basic return policy. Our family are frequent costco shoppers too. Very disappointing.

The Doctor my was extremely rude. I took my dad in for his glasses exam, and the Doctor was very disrespectful to me- she ignored every question I had; even when my father told her she needed to speak to me because I was the one paying. Desk staff are the same way. If you are not over 40 (or if you don't *look* over forty) you will not be treated with respect. This is age based discrimination, and I will not be returning to this establishment.

All of the staff that helped me from the front desk to the glasses counter. We're exceptionally nice, friendly, and went above and beyond to help me in getting glasses. Definitely would recommend.

Friendly staff on great prices. You can see the Optometrist in the store and then head over to the Vision Center for glasses. A little different having them separated, but that is the Costco way.
