I’m a local buyer and wanted to share my experience for anyone doing careful vehicle research.
I was shopping for an electric vehicle in late August and had decided on a Hyundai Ioniq Limited with all-wheel drive. Inventory for that configuration was limited, so I contacted several dealerships. When I called Pedder Hyundai, I was told they could get the vehicle and that I should come in to negotiate pricing.
I went in, finalized a price, and had my credit run. After that, I waited over an hour while they contacted other dealerships, only to be told they could not actually obtain the vehicle. They apologized, but it was unclear why my credit was checked before availability was confirmed.
I later test-drove the vehicle at another dealership, liked it, and decided to give Pedder Hyundai another opportunity. I called back, agreed on pricing, and moved forward with the purchase.
During this process, I was also told they could help with the EV rebate. Later, I was told that using the rebate would result in a worse APR, which made it difficult to clearly evaluate the financing options.
In the finance office, multiple warranties and add-ons were included in the total. When I asked to remove them, I was told they could not be taken off because the agreed price depended on them. I reluctantly proceeded.
After reviewing the paperwork at home, I discovered nearly $10,000 in warranties and upgrades had been added. The documents stated these could be canceled within 30–90 days. I returned to the dealership four days later (August 28) to cancel them and was given paperwork stating the cancellations would be processed and refunded.
Since then, I have called multiple times each month to follow up. The General Manager has not returned my calls and is reportedly unavailable when I visit. I contacted Hyundai Consumer Affairs and the warranty providers, who advised that while the warranties could be canceled through them, any refund must be issued by the dealership. As of now, the issue remains unresolved.

The entire team at this dealership were great to work with. Special call out for Moses and Jessica, two fantastic people to deal with during this car buying experience. Honest and no pushy car sale games. Would highly recommend this dealership over any other!

Overall, I was satisfied with the negotiation process and the actual purchase of my new vehicle. Unfortunately, my experience after the sale has been extremely disappointing.
We agreed on a dealer discount that should have been applied to my vehicle, but it was instead applied to a more expensive vehicle, resulting in an overcharge. While mistakes can happen, the real issue is how this was handled afterward. I have emailed, texted, and called the dealership multiple times over the past three weeks to resolve this error and have received no response.
A lack of communication and accountability after the sale is unacceptable. Because of this post-purchase experience, I would not recommend Pedder Hyundai or do business with them again.

All of the employees at this dealer were extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. They helped me find a new car that fit my needs. They were patient with me taking my time as I wanted to make sure I got what I wanted. Paul was our salesman. Overall, I had a great experience and I would purchase from them again.

Worst experience I have ever had. Went there to buy a used car that’s price was 19,900 and when we saw the final numbers it had gone up $10,000. Apparently, when this dealership got the car they added on 4 new features which caused the price to go up almost 50% . Unfortunately my wife loved the car so I was stuck. Paul is a great salesman but that is it.

She attentively listened to my grandmother’s needs, explained the trim options clearly, and patiently guided us through the car’s features. She also followed up promptly with useful information all without applying any pressure. Her professionalism and genuine care made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable.

Outstanding appointment with the Service Dept yesterday. Everything about it right down to the ice cold water in the lounge made it a great experience. Jason McQuarie was my service agent. Knowledgeable, experienced, thorough, and friendly. He monitored my Sonata's progress through service and kept me posted. No surprises. Pedder is, by far, the best Hyundai dealership in San Diego (Poway). Have been to them all.

Ok, I am an Analyst by trade. I reached out to multiple dealers in LA, Orange and SD county and the best price was at Pedder Hyundai. The staff communicated with me through the process. I was warmly greeted when I arrived and quickly helped by Izsabella.
We did a quick test drive. She was personable and kind. She helped to answer all my questions and offered multiple tips on my new car. Back at the office she asked a few questions and I was soon off the finance for some signatures.
After she gave me some more tips, had my new car washed and topped off with gas and I was on my way.
About one and half hours or so from when I showed up to when I drove off.
The often offered water or coffee. Everyone was friendly. She we’ve reached out a couple of times after to see if I had any questions.
Great experience overall.

I had such a great experience at Pedder Hyundai Poway thanks to Kyle! He was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and truly went above and beyond. Kyle stayed with me all the way until closing time just to make sure I understood everything and felt confident with my decision- A rock Tucson Hybrid new model 2026 . I never felt rushed or pressured — just supported.
