My son's gaming desktop was dropped during a move and stopped booting up after a day of use. Despite our best efforts to fix it with the help of a family member, we couldn't get it working. My son found ProTech Computer Store in Poway through a Google search. Initially, I was very skeptical, so I made a phone call to confirm their diagnostic services. Joey, the owner, answered promptly and provided a very reasonable price.
We brought the desktop to the store and met Joey in person. He was very easy to work with and understanding. I learned that he has been running this business for 14 years and was a software engineer prior. Joey quickly identified the issue, which was a loose memory card. He secured the hard drive, lowered the clock speed of the motherboard to resolve the slow boot issue, and recovered the desktop very quickly. He also recommended upgrading the BIOS.
Joey is highly experienced, hands-on, and professional, with a genuine passion for IT support. I highly recommend him if you need any IT assistance.

I found Joey Wu, the owner of ProTech Computer in Poway, through a Google search. I was very pleased with his work, his professionalism, and his prices. I brought in my son's PC which he uses for gaming. Joey was patient and thoughtful as he listened to my weak effort to explain what was wrong with the computer (because I am neither computer savvy nor am I a gamer). Joey was thorough in his troubleshooting, ordered and installed a replacement graphics card, and finished the transaction by charging me a very reasonable rate for his work. I decided to write and post this 5-star review because everyone needs to know a reliable computer repair person like Joey who they can count on.

Joey is incredibly smart and talented when it comes to computer repairs!! I can always trust him to solve any problem I run into! My computer was blue screening and I told him about it and he knew how to fix it right away! Any time I have issues I know where to take my computer! Can't recommend him enough!!

Joey at Protech Computer Repair is so knowledgeable and helpful. My PC had some water damage that glitched out the screen and damaged the charging port. Before even bringing my PC in, he gave me free advice over the phone in case I wanted to try and work on myself. Wanting my computer in the hands of a professional, I trusted Joey with it and am so glad I did. His pricing was more than reasonable and his knowledge and care exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend Protech Computer Repair!

Excellent job! Should have come directly to him instead of wasting 30 hours at home trying to fix it myself! He diagnosed and knew the problem within 5 minutes right in front of me. (edit) Needed to come in again for an issue with another computer. I wish I could give him 6 Stars!! Do yourself a favor and just bring it in to him. Prices are MORE than fair for what he offers and he goes the extra mile.

Joey does it all--software, hardware, good advice on when to repair and when to get something new. He's kept several of my computers running long after they should have given out. He's amazing.

Joey is a one-man show but don't let that fool you. He is honest, VERY knowledgeable and fair with pricing. You can tell he loves what he does and takes the time to speak with you at length before making any suggestions or pushing with the cost for the work. I've been a customer for 5+ years and I won't go any where else for my computer needs.
