They shorted my order by 1 fish taco. Then they promised to refund the taco. They didn't.I hate being ripped off.

Nice Rubio's location. Food is great and staff are nice. I wish they would use the "special" sticker to distinguish the one without sauce.

I wasn’t impressed this go around. The food was pretty cold, granted I picked up food to take home but I live two minutes away. So it was still pretty cold. Several food items were missing although the receipt says it was marked off as QC’d. Obviously no one actually looked inside the bag. Poway has other options for food and I recommend you explore those options.

Rubio's regular fish burrito is a seafood delight! The succulent fish, paired with fresh ingredients and flavorful salsa, makes every bite a taste adventure. Generous portions and a satisfying blend of textures elevate this burrito to a seafood lover's paradise. Highly recommended!

Great Rubios, langotinos tacos were perfectly crafted and hot as tacos should be! The girl taking my order was super friendly and accommodating. I think I had not been at that Rubios for years and it was a great surprise when doing some shopping in Poway. The store is spacious and very clean, there was someone constantly checking that all was perfectly clean. The atmosphere was cool and restrooms impeccable.

I am usually all about a mom and pop taco stand when I am visiting Southern California, but don't be to quick to overlook Rubio's. I visit Southern California every once in a while and I love, love, love Rubio's. I was visiting this location today and my tacos were spectacular. I asked the young man at the front counter to help me decide what to choose since they have so many amazing options. He took time to help me with my choices and I must say they were amazing. I chose a fish taco, a shrimp taco , and a grilled steak taco. The ambiance is very nice and very clean. They have an amazing salsa bar. I just love their chipotle salsa. As luck would have it, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Rubio himself. What a great gentleman he is. I did all but beg him to open a location in the New Albany/Columbus, Ohio area. Here's hoping! He also gave me coupons for a second visit while I am in the area. I can't wait to return.

Poor customer service from the person at the counter to out of advertised items to lack of concern for customer inconvenience from the district manager. Rubios has lost our business.

Tonight, I tried (for the first time) their Classic Taco Trio for under $10. Since I love steak, I selected 3 steak tacos. Well...that was a disappointment! Hardly any volume of beef in the tacos! They were so lightweight when I picked one up. Pretty much a sprinkling of mostly what looked like ground beef chunks with an actual cube of steak here and there and smothered in sauce, fresh salsa and a ton of shredded lettuce to pad the overall weight of the taco and to fill in the gap between the corn tortillas. Don't get me wrong...I love Rubio's fish and shrimp tacos. So, tonight's experience of ordering anything beef at this restaurant was my first and last one.

GOOD: I haven't been to Rubio's in, at least, 2-3 yrs. I came here with a friend on a Saturday (Sept 16) and the place was half way full. 4-5 people in line. Not too bad. Ordered our food and it was good. BAD: There was only one young girl at the register taking orders, delivering food to the tables, bagging to go orders and filling condiments. Long story short . . . Rubio's need to hire more people and help this poor girl out. Come on, Rubio's !!!

The quality at the various Rubio's locations varies greatly. For example, and for whatever reason (food sourcing?, etc.) no matter how bad the Rubios in San Diego, the food quality is always better than in Orange County or Los Angeles. The quality at this location is not as good as other locations in San Diego, but is not bad. In general, Rubios has been hit by inflation and pandemic pricing and, like everywhere, is not as good a value as it used to be. Unless you are getting Rubio's signature items like fish tacos, then you may be better getting other "Mexican" style food items at other restaurants. However, for the seafood tacos and burritos and especially the fish that Rubio's is historically known for, they are still a great place to go. Some of the people who work here seem to be a little immature, but their service on our visit was good enough. We went early for dinner (4:00-4:30) and it was fairly slow. There were a few families and older people inside at this time. So this was a great time to go to miss any rush they may have. This location is in a mall and there is a big shared lot with sufficient parking. Overall, not 5 stars for this location, but still a good place to stop by if you are in the area and this is the closest Rubio's to where you are at in San Diego.
